i spoke to another experienced player and he said the 20 speed and 5 acceleration was ok as long as i decreased the turning speedDroid wrote:Grenville, Shrugging off the main weapon there is one thing...but that laser and the drones is quite another. So what if it has less firepower than the one that killed TATARI? Its still got insane speed.
Its not 5 acceleration, its 500... if you want 5, go 0.05 (acceleration is multiplied by 100). 20 Speed is alright, but with 500 accel, its going to hit it instantly. meaning, its gonna zip around real fast. the beam weapon does 500 damage with a 200 duration, the momento mori and the tatari can pump out more damage per second then mine can in a minute. i designed them to do good damage over time and penetrate armor rather then doing ungodly damage with each hit and have a rate of fire of hundreds of shots per minute like other ships
i will admit the number of drones is a bit much, they don't do that much damage though. the hammer died because i hit its core, not killed all its sections

And Demeter swarms kill by coring. I know the Memento Mori and TATARI pump out more DPS, but I don't think they're meant to be fought...they're meant to be stared at. Since really, all sense disappears once you try to "balance" against them.
Oh, by the way, do know that beams apply damage per frame, so thats 500 damage per frame, which is 15000 damage per second, for a maximum of 100000 damage per cycle.

Since I've gotten quite a few comments like this, I think I'm going to go back and widen out the base of the claws. I think that should help alleviate the contrast there.Looks nice, but as noted, the smooth, curvy claws do contrast with the blockyness of the rest of the ship.
I have two pulsars, one smaller one on the nose of the ship and a bigger one suspended between the claws. They're both set to spit out a whole buttload of shots (100 for the smaller one, 200 for the larger) that stop instantly. The small one shoots off first, accelerates to max speed, then the larger one fires off at max speed already as soon as the small shot passes through it. Then I added a 0 damage mining beam to act as a laser sight.How do you get it to get that weapon effect?
