I.S.I. - Terra Divided on Page 3, Comments Welcome

Post by AidanAdv »

"My fellow solders, today we stand as the final bulwark against chaos. I know many of you have are veterans of other conflicts and have seen the horrors of our enemies. Because the military is tied down in the occupation and elsewhere, new threats have appeared at home. The People's United Front has been causing civil unrest for decades, but now they are attacking like never before. This is why we have been called today. The government has decided to organize a new security force in order to neutralize these threats. We will have the best ships, the best equipment, and the best facilities in order to accomplish this. If we are successfully the Terran Alliance will be safe for future generations. If we are not the consequences will be indescribable." - Grand Admiral Jurgen Victor, Commander of the Terran Alliance I.S.F.

They're alright, the Legoni looks like a slightly better Hestia. Anyway, I look forward to bigger ships soon.

Congrats on the Boarding craft.

it's good to see players creating 'non' combat specific craft.

Could you make the Boarding Craft act like a boarding craft by giving it a REALLY short ranged weapon and Broadside AI so when it attacks the enemy it looks like its boarding/touching the enemy craft..?

I do like how the Legoni looks like a Hestia that has been upgraded throughout a period of time.

What about giving it a short ranged, 0 damage beam gun? that has along duration, to look like its forming a "corridor" between the 2 ships, in theory letting the troops across. give it a low firing arc aswell, and make it highly accurate.

Boarding craft need to damage the target when the 'team' is on... so you can try to make an invisible beam weapon and set its range very low.

Nice! I really like the carrier, it looks pretty freaking cool. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to a superdreadnought.

Any plans on modding your Boarding Craft with the suggestions listed previously?
I'd do it, but atm i'm interstate and the work laptop craps itself with BSF :(

I love the carrier, its got great lines for your fleet, and the boarding craft is a good idea, especially if you can make it actually capture a ship if it gets near enough like in the campaign. Not sure how that one works though I'm sure someone has responded with that idea already. Good fleet, not much to improve for the hulls your using.
oh and shame on you, here I saw Imperial and your ackbar avatar and was hoping for a star wars fleet.

I like them but some of them don't fit the style and the boarding craft needs a short range pemanent disruption frosch gun.

Hey, i actually like that idea.
Instead of a heavily modded Beamer, the idea of a very close range Frosch gun is another way of simulating the 'damage' a boarding party could do!
Although i wouldn't make it a permanent disruption.
Perhaps long duration and long reload.

You could even create a back story that would cover different boarding craft: designed to capture/immobilise a ship for salvage (frosch equipped) or one designed to destroy the ship (very short range heavy damage 'beam' weapon to simulate transporters or explosives).

Sweet.
Now i can't wait to finish work and create one.

You can simulate the 'only one boarding team' effect by setting Energy regen to 0.
