Second BSF Beauty Pageant - FINALLY COMPLETE

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Fan Ships Category:

Beacon Core (Gradius V version) by Ixranin
--- Aesthetics: 6/10
--- Creativity: 5/10
--- Accuracy: 7/10
--- Functionality: 6/10
Total: 24/40
Comments: Mostly accurate, fun to play with, and pretty pleasing to the eyes. Aesthetics: 6/10 cause its “purty”, to take a leaf out of Danny’s book. Creativity: 5/10. Better section use could have helped. Accuracy: Pretty accurate to me. 7/10. Functionality: Fun to play with, funny to play with, unique. 6/10.

Colonial Viper Mk. II by _Ti__
--- Aesthetics: 5/10
--- Creativity: 4/10
--- Accuracy: 4/10
--- Functionality: 4/10
Total: 17/40
Comments: To me, it looks more like a Alpha 3 V-Wing or a Delta 6 or 7 from Star Wars. It just does not look much like the Colonial Viper. Aesthetics: 5/10 for a good looking ship, including colors. Creativity: 4/10. Good use of sections to get the color pattern wanted. Accuracy: Not overly accurate, but just enough to warrant a 4/10. Functionality: 4/10 for a so-so performance.

Conestoga-class Starship by Syngyne
--- Aesthetics: 5/10
--- Creativity: 5/10
--- Accuracy: 4/10
--- Functionality: 5/10
Total: 19/40
Comments: Not bad for the basic shape and outline, but I’m afraid the ship fails in the 3D sense of things, specifically using layers. Aesthetics: 5/10 for a so-so appearance. Creativity: 5/10 for average use of pieces. Accuracy: 4/10. DETAILS! Functionality: 5/10 for an average score to top of this ship.

Victory II-class Star Destroyer by goduranus
--- Aesthetics: 6/10
--- Creativity: 5/10
--- Accuracy: 6/10
--- Functionality: 3/10
Total: 20/40
Comments: My only real argument is use of sections and layering. Other than that, weird weapons do not fit canonically. Aesthetics: Ever so slightly pleasing, actually, for a 6/10. Creativity: 5/10 for a “meh”ish use of sections and layering. Accuracy: For looks, it scores a 6/10. Functionality: 3/10 for weird weapons.

Warning Forever Ship by Talhydras
--- Aesthetics: 5/10
--- Creativity: 6/10
--- Accuracy: 9/10
--- Functionality: 8/10
Total: 28/40
Comments: Could have picked a better ship to recreate, jeez. Nicely accurate given the size, and very fun to play with. Aesthetics: Better ship would have done you much justice. 5/10 instead. Creativity: Well, erm, sure? Bigger size could have given you so much more pieces to play with. Well, a 9/10 cause it’s pretty accurate! Functionality: Nicely done.

=( indeed. The judging is so close to done here. If you finish up those last two fanships, it's only fleets left to be done. True, three people need to do that yet, but, still... this has gone on long enough, don't you think?
seriously Anna. seriously oh my gawd seriously.

Heh, I find it funny that in the time it's taken to judge this, I've replaced/removed all but one of the ships in my fleet...

IN my defense my ship can move. at a pretty decent clip too
all you have to do is click repeatedly at where you want it to go.
and keep clicking.

Yes, I DID find that out.

It's retarded.

You and me both. Hell, a good chunk of the entries are in sb2s because shipmaker 3 wasn't out yet...

So, I've been at a ski resort for a few days, lacking nets. Half done with fleets.

And I use sb2 on purpose for commonality. :|

Bovine: That's half awesome! Now, if Arcalane and Kenshin get half done with fleets, too, that means we're... really, nowhere new. Keep up the pace guys, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Ara: Sure, sure. Has nothing to do with the fact that converting an entire fleet from sb2s to sb3s by hand can be a huge pain in the ass, eh?

Commonality. I coulda built the last ships in the fleet in sb3 but decided to keep 'em in sb2 just so I wouldn't have more than 2 file types in those folders (shp and sb2).

THIRTEEN DAYS.

I'm giving the remaining judges thirteen days to finish judging the Beauty Pageant, though God only knows why they would need that much additional time. 13 days from now it will have been a full TWO MONTHS since judging began. If it's not finished by then, then I will let the unfinished category (Fleets) go to a public vote, simply to get it over and done with.
