I just had an idea, change the color of the matrix field to black so it becomes invisible, that way the it doesn't look like a machine is repairing the organic hulls.
Tried it. It doesn't seem to work, however. The game changes the colour of the matrix field to the colour assigned, but it doesn't pay attention to how dark is the tone you select, so in the end, if I assign a black colour to the matrix field, it will heal with white beams. In the same way, If I chose, say, pink or dark red, I would get the same nanomatrix field colour.
And make the beam more purple, please. A modded megabeam may work.

I have to say I am indeed modifying the weapons in order to make them fit more or less what was seen in the show -shot bursts, colours...- The definitive payload of weaponry may not fit with the canon statements, but I still go to youtube and watch battlescenes until I have seen the ship in action. Unfortunately, blasters are the main weapon I am using, and it is currently accepting two colours only: green and red. (It's bugged, I think)

By the way really good job on the spines of the battlecrab, but the ones at the back should be longer in my opinion.
Thanks for the compliment. I am not so fond of the main body of the shadow vessel. It just doesn't look as good as I'd like to. Anyway, I have been working on fixing some mirroring mistakes and tweaking a certain part in the front of the ship.
About the size of the spikes, I believe I got them right. I used this picture for reference.
And finally, a gift. Here you see the 3 babylon 5 ships I have created in formation. Yes, I said 3. Let me introduce you to the Centauri Vorchan Attack Cruiser which I recently finished and rebalanced.
It is fairly agile, and features the main, fast reload twin ion cannons, a short range laser seen in some episodes as a wide-fire-arc weapon for striking at small and agile targets, and planetary bombardment weapons -as seen in In The Beginning-
Ideas? opinions?
If I went on to work on a Narn G'Quan, have any of you seen any weaponry on it beyond the 2 frontal red beams? B5Tech lists 6 more cannons, but I have never seen them firing -or at least, I can't remember where are located on the ship- so I might end leaving the ship with 2 very powerful front lasers. It wouldn't be a really big disadvantage if it wasn't for the fact that the G'Quan is not really fast at turning. But anyway, almost all Babylon 5 ships -besides EA ships- are almost devoted to frontal assaults -the vorchan, whitestar and gquan all have most if not all their firepower in the front, and seem to work with a very narrow firing arc. Earth Alliance and minbari ships seem much more flexible.

Well, I already did it: built and balanced
In this case, I considered the painted surfaces would have a bigger resistence to enemy fire, while the grey zones would be weaker than average. This allows such a big ship to be destroyed by ships the size of vorchan if the weakness is exploited. Since it has its weapons in the front, and it is an "exposed" area, the ship relies on the high damage of the beams and the distance between the G'Quan and it's target. This was done to keep the feeling that the Narn are one of the less advanced races in terms of space fairing (not counting the non-aligned-worlds)
Testing has shown the resistence I gave to the exposed pieces (50hp, when compared with the 150-200 I am using for standard sections in a cruiser) may be too little. But when thinking throuth it twice, he ship can still destroy a Vorchan on it's own, one to one, so I consider it is not that bad. It even survives the attack of 2 vorchans, killing both, although 3 vorchans would make short work of it.
Well, I think I can say I'm satisfied with the result
The demeter launcher hosts 12 frazi fighters which are released upon enemy is in range

And by the way, playing the "kill the civilian transports" mode in Skirmish using a shadow battlecrab is AWESOME... I love the feeling of it's deadly fast-tracking laser hitting innocent civilians xD...
