I've been watching these forums for a good month or so now, taking in all of the different ships designs and I've noticed for all of the great designs, no one has made that one "HUEG" ship that I had been looking for. As I had been experimenting with the layered warship design (the Horatio Nelson was a big inspiration, you could almost call it the father of this ship), I felt that would be the best direction to go in.
So I picked up the Shipmaker 3 beta, and 1916 pieces later it is finished. (Novercalis stole some of my thunder with the massive [and excellent] Death Star design, and I feel your pain: layer after layer takes it out of you.)
This shot was taken with surfaces off (for some reason, you can zoom out a LOT farther this way), and with the sandbox at 3000 by 3000. Reason is on the right, and the Horatio Nelsons are on the left.

So there she is. I don't like the square sides (my wife called it a giant pencil, but I can fix that later if I wish) and I had to give up on any semblance of an engine section (I ran out of room plus the ship maker lags very badly at this point), but I am overall happy.
Here is a closer shot in Shipmaker:

And just to quiet any parenting freaks, this shot shows my hard work:

I desperately wanted an action shot of the ship, but the frame rate took such a hammering with the latest version of the ship that it was all but impossible. It's a pure broadside ship, with guns that I took off of Mjolnir's Battlefleet Gothic ships (I had to up the range, but the projectile volley is the same, just with more guns!

The only shot I have is of the Horatio Nelson showing off just how big this ship is:

This is a screen filler, ladies and gentlemen. It's a wall of layered green. If you would like to make your CPU melt (I was averaging one frame when I spawned it in, even before I unfroze the ships) I can put up a download when I am good and happy with it.
Here's the technical jargon:
Blasters x a whole lot
Fire Rate: 5
Clipsize: 30
Reload: 90
Damage: 75
Range: 1800
Deviation: 2
Turning: default
HP: default
Beamers x less then the blasters but still a whole lot:
Fire Rate: 0
Clipsize: 1
Reload: 500
Damage: 100 (might need to tone that down, will test later)
Range: 2000
Deviation: default
Turning: Default
HP: Default
The ship has 90 deflectors (considering it has 1916 parts, that isn't even 5% of the ships total. That's like making a 50 part ship and giving it ONE deflector. This number may change. Two Demeter launchers, 50 drones a spawn, and some Impeders with a few point beams round out the defense.
So then. I'd love to hear what you have to say.
TL;DR hi, i leik you gam. it coo.
