Lion Mutilates 42 Midgets In Cambodian Ring-Fight

Spectators cheered as the entire Cambodian Midget Fighting League squared off against an African Lion late last week.
Tickets had been sold-out three weeks before the much-anticipated fight, which took place in the city of Kampong Chnang.
The fight had been slated after an angry fan assaulted Yang Sihamoni, President of the CMFL, claiming that a single lion could defeat his entire league of 42 fighters.
The promoter took the challenge. An African Lion was shipped to the centrally-located Kampong Chnang for he event, which took place Saturday in the city's coliseum.
The Cambodian Government allowed the fight to take place under the condition that they receive a 50% commission on the ticket sales, and that no cameras or mobile phones would be allowed in the arena.
The fight was called off after just 12 minutes. Twenty-Eight fighters were declared dead on the scene and the otehr 14 suffered severe to critical injuries.
Sihamoni took great pride in the league he helped create, as evidenced by a recent advertising campaign that boasted his midgets would "take on anything; man, beast, or machine".
Prior to the fight, Shiamoni declared that the numerical superiority of his fighters would allow them to "outwit and out-muscle the lion".
He was wrong.
