Bellcross Federation - Helicopters in space? Why not?

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

The Terra Firma may look ugly, it may be slow, it may be crappy at turns, but nothing can argue about it's role. This heavy defensive battleship can hide behind its three multi-layer shields while returning some heavy fire of its own in the form of autocannons, gatling blasters, missile racks, Heavy Dark Matter Cannons, and six PBS units. There's also two heavy-duty omnidirectional blasters sitting on top of the rear liquid energy pools, capable of routing power from the engines to fire energy rounds. The front weapons bank has two EMP Burst Cannons supporting it too, while both side shields are movable.

The ship's weakness is the lousy turning rate. Faster ships can evade cannon fire to flank and destroy the side shield supports, which will bring the side shields down. Considering they survive long enough to, since the ship itself has dreadnought-class heavy armour. However, there's too much hull space dedicated to weapons that a deflector system can't be installed, even though there's two shield generators.

-------------

Trying out something new. I know it's fugly, I said it in the description.

Trying to balance them against VSE and IVL. I might widen the fighter's wings.

Those space monster ships look really good. This is the only fleet so far that uses stock colors and manages to look good that I've seen.

NOT STOCK COLOURS! How many times must I say this? Every piece is custom coloured.

Not space monster. Ever heard of dragons?

lol, everyone always thinks that it's stock colours.

Anyway, the new ship is nice, but I agree with arc, you're putting too many weapons, particularly on the section 26's, just double the damage, and half the amt of weapons, or perhaps start shrinking weapons, so it looks less cluttered.

Good god, why? Custom colors are great if you want four or more shades, but why would you painstakingly color each section on a two-color ship? It fills me with confusion and disgust.

uhm cause it keeps its colour after you change your settings?

and its not that much work, my largest titan of 1001 (really!) pieces is completely custom coloured. its very easy cause you colour one piece and when you want the same section on another place you just copy it, its easier then scrolling the section list anyway and you keep the colour

Which is exactly the reason not to do it. Why give up the ability to change the entire paint scheme with a few clicks if you decide you want something different?

cause I never decide I want something different? And cause I don't want to change the settings everytime I want to select another ship? I don't want to memorize every colour sceme of my ships. And I want custom ships with different colourscemes to look good when they fight each other.

...that word doesn't mean what you think it means.

However, I think the word you meant was memorize.

The Xenon Bombardment Corvette is a relatively new addition to the Wyrmtech fleet. It's small, weak armoured and fast, but that doesn't mean it can't pack a big punch. Two dual Dark Matter Besieger Cannons, advanced versions of the Dark Matter Cannons which are now capable of firing at targets further away with deadly precision and speed. The power requirements don't allow it to pack more weapons, but there are two omnidirectional plasma cannons, two shard cannons and a single-shot EMP Burst Cannon. The shard cannons fire compressed crystal shards that can punch through enemy armour and damage their internal weapons systems. Something else new is the Tactical Hyperspace Device, which allows the ship to perform a short-range hyperspace jump to escape enemies. While not so deadly alone, in numbers, they can become more of a threat than even a Verizon pointing its main gun down your engines (Ouch).

One of these corvettes has recently been spotted by long-range scanners, en route to the VSE-IVL border.

The first thing I saw when I got to the hangar this morning was that all our fighters were gone! Just as I got down there to ask about things, the floor elevators opened up, and out came three brand-new delta-wing fighters. So smexy, I couldn't resist gaping at them. A techy explained that our previous ones had been upgraded to Fraxion mk.IIs, and that the delta wing allowed for two more rocket pods to be added. Armour got a slight up too, and the specs improved.

After a test flight, I gotta say, this baby handles like a charm! Can't wait to fly it in actual combat. But then, the boss calls back, and me and my wingmen get sent on a scouting mission near IVL borders, together with one of those new Xenon corvettes. If we meet any IVL ships, he tells us to run with our afterburners behind our asses. Heard they got some new fighters recently, I wonder how good their pilots are?
