Help Verminator jazz up his new fleet for zero reward.
Here's the ship. It's part of a new fleet I'm almost done with. This is the flagship, the biggest one in the fleet. However, I'm having a hard time giving it a name and placing weapons and modules on it. Any hints?

Vindicator, venerator, some strong word starting with a V
as for weapons, theres a nice spot in the back for a big primary weapon turret, and the rest of the ship should include alot of point defense to protect itself and the fleet. I assume some of the other vessels will be more specialized for heavy attack. Maybe some long range cannons, unless you want it to be right in the middle of things

You know, flagships don't always have to be huge... look at the Alliance in Serenity - their flag ship (might have been more a command ship) was a cruiser, and i'm pretty sure that their battleship had a gun that was the same size as it, lol. There's Homeworld mods that have cruiser sized command ships as well, so don't feel that it has to be huge just because it's an important ship. That's just crotch logic
I'm liking the shape of that ship - you should look into outlining techniques as a way of adding details and accents, mainly because it's not that hard but looks effective. Is the gap down the middle intentional or a mirroring error?
I don't know the ins and outs of weapon placements, so I can't really advise you there. What weapons were you looking at using? I'm seeing gattling blasters... but that's probably cos of the colour scheme.

Alright, here's what I've got so far. As you can see, the other big ship that I'm currently calling the Dominator, is a centre-line heavy beamer Destroyer-type ship. The Aegised vessel is the Talon, the small missile cruiser is the Crossbow, the one next to that is the Predator, the small ship next to that is the Plunderer, the smallish destroyer with the gatling pulse guns is the Minotaur, and the broadside beam monstrosity is the Trident. The unnamed flagship is between the Dominator and Trident. These are all aimed towards close-to-stock power, more specifically as enemies to my other fleet, the Northern Star Alliance. They're all far from being completed. Most of them are barely functional, and get slaughtered by most of the NSA ships, with perhaps the exception of the Trident. It's something I'm working towards.

. . . it looks like a red Alien Dreadnought. Even the aegis modules are in the same place.Scorpia wrote:I really like the design of the Talon!
Secondly, the Dominator is made of win and cool. It has good depth and looks like a Cronus made of metal biceps.

Really nice ships. The Dominator's design is really nice and more stock-ish ships are always a good thing.

Here's the first armed version of the new ship, which I'm going to call the Nemesis. It's really durable, plenty of firepower in every direction, lots of point defense. Any NSA fleet trying to fight one of these and its escorts are going to find that their hands are full. Any opinions on it?
