I made a similar weapon to the Nuke and HYT, the Kinetic Missile:
The Kinetic Missile was developed as a relatively inexpensive way to deliver massive damage, and consequently became a favourite of terrorists everywhere. Lacking in any explosives, it must be destroyed by enemy fire to be set off. It keeps the price down though. The mechanism is extremely simple; the momentum of the missile at destruction is transferred into the tiny pellets carried by the missile. Since the mass of an individual pellet is much lower than the missile as a whole, the velocities attained by the pellets enable them to deal tremendous damage, in fact passing through the enemy ship entirely. This gives the Kinetic Missile the properties of both a shotgun and a railgun.

Enhanced Kinetic Missile fitted with a heavily modified surplus Blaster cannon rigged to overload as a warhead due to its higher speed often precluding it getting detonated by incoming weapons fire.

A type of zipped file.
I use WinRAR, personally. It supports .rar and .zip along with a multitude of other extensions. From what I've heard of though, there are better programs out there... o.O

Sound-based weapon. Damages very slowly, but it DOES do damage.

Sonic-based weaponry won't work in space due to there being no air.

@Tormak; I think I brought this up earlier, but it's always good to reiterate it. Higher acceleration does not necessarily increase the impact of the missile; in fact, as I stated before, the standard KM can pass straight through the broadside of my Erebus design (which is basically a beefed up stock Battleship) and barely leave a mark.

Most KKWs can get close to enemy ships as almost all of their pieces have extremely high health to ensure they inflict considerable amounts of damage to their target.
In fact, the only concern is point beams, which are the only real defense capable of stopping a ship from taking damage from a KKW.

Very high speed and maneuverability also helps. I remember trying to hit Danny420's Waverider with the Kinetic Missile and his ship kept dodging the damn thing...Arcalane wrote:Most KKWs can get close to enemy ships as almost all of their pieces have extremely high health to ensure they inflict considerable amounts of damage to their target.
