AD's cunning concepts: Adelaide class on page 11.

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Thats a pretty good ship you got there. There is some fairly interesting section usage especially around the very middle of the ship.

I am concerned however about the front end of the ship. Some of the sections just seem out of place, for example the two blk_sec15 on the very front, and the blue blk_sec21s sticking out from the sides . In addition to the yellow glow emitting from the front end makes it look a bit odd.

Anyway that's my two cents, good job on the rest of the ship tho.

Meh, what I'm just gonna do is start a whole new faction. This place never had a decent backstory anyway. Gonna be a new design style, though I will try to keep up the section usage. Chances are I'll carry over the latest concept to it.

In that light;

Obviously the flanks aren't even close to finished, but the stern and bow are. Any opinions on this WIP?

WF sprites don't seem to fit with detailed sections, but shape-wise it might be interesting.

Use the WF sprites as heavy armor plating over the detailed sections; also try flipping her around. Keep the red reactor aft of the yellow one, however :)

Please don't use WF sprites unless you edit some detail onto them. It just looks really out of place and even sloppy. :\

That said, this doesn't really look very different from your current style at all. I'll reserve judgement until you've bult it up some more.

This guy knows what he's talking about, in this instance.

As to these two:

Using WF sprites is the equivalent of dropping vector art cutouts ontop of a crosshatched pencil drawing.

The good news is that if you spend some time editing on more lines, strokes and details on those, they can work very well as armor plating, like danny suggested.

Allright, armour plating it is, that was the plan on the flanks anyways. So was adding detail: I plan to use Eri's method of adding detail using a custom doodad.

@Cycerin; the main difference will be[/b] in the flanks. I don't plan on making this a swiss army knife.

I can't say I'm a fan of WF sprites but this is a mighty fine ship so far, keep it up. Eager to see how it will turn out.

Update. Obviously not all issues stated on IRC have been adressed, but I've at least improved the flanks. I think. Forward prongs need some more crisp-ness, something is to be done with the tail section, etc.

Future prospects aside from fixing things; turning the forward prongs into docking bays for merchant ships and cargo tugs, adding defensive and offensive armament,...

Opinions?

I know you hate me but some minor things about this brilliant ship:

The 2 fuelrods at the backside just look totally out of place.
and the red spikey sections at the front look out of place, otherwise this is just brilliant.

Very nice, as usual. My only critique at this point is the fact that I don't like the WF sprites. You've done a pretty good job at covering them up, but I don't think you could apply them in any way that would be better than a specialized custom section. Still, great. I also liked the shape of version 1. We don't have enough skinny ships 'round here.

I like color scheme.

Turning it into a flying merchant dock with defenses sounds like an interesting plan.

Nothing wrong with the WF sprites, but now you need to balance it and put some, probably slender angled pieces, on the front prongs. I'd say towards the outer edges so the detail still shows underneath. I did kinda like the thin version, it was seaquesty...

My only personal dislike for meshing regular and wf sprites is that they were shaded lighter by default so trying to color them the same to simulate levels/larger pieces of equipement doesn't work well.

Color scheme does not work at all. The rest is nice.
