Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!
Here are some of my ships designs. I stripped them off all weapons and other equiptment. (I'll keep this topic up to date)
First up the Peacekeeper IV Battlecruiser Hulk, also known as the Dreadnought Killer. Due to its long and big shape it can house many weapons and shielding equiptment. Its heavily armoured and can stand weapons fired for prelonged periods. Main downsides are that its slow and turns like a brick. The main role for this ship is to back up a fleets flanks.
I like the look of the Peacekeeper, really sleek. But its parenting appears to be a little screwed up. And 1500HP? 1 Turning? 1 Accel.? That's abit much for its size, don't you think? Also, your second pic doesn't work for me >.<
EDIT: Hit P to get rid of the messy whitelines. Helps lots when the ship gets REALLY big.

Apart from the complete and utter travesty that is the parenting, not bad.
Speed/turning/accel are definitely too high and the HP might be a touch too high too. Note you can press F9 to take screenshots both ingame and in the editor.
1/1/1 is definitely too high for what you describe as a brick.
in the future, press f9 to take your screenshots, then we don't have to see everything your doing, and your desktop. Besides, the image will be smaller.
The HP and all will be tuned later, for now its just a test bed. Im looking for things that work or not. Im having a HP of 800 in mind, and that ship is anything but small.
Also didnt knew how to remove the whitelines, thanks for the tips.
The white lines between modules and sections show the parenting order. Any section you add is attached to the last section you selected or set down (Right click -> Select) thus you have to be extremely careful, else you end up with a single section causing your entire ship to explode or lose significant portions of it's armament and hull.
Meet the Peacemaker V, its the Peacekeepers bigger brother. Its designed to be a mobile heavy weapons platform. Although slow and not very manueverable it can take intensive bombardement due deflector protection and heavy metal plating. I'm still think of the weapons I should equip it with, so im open for suggestion on that part.
Nice design there. I like the wepons placement. But if that other ship has the same parenting as the first one, you're gonna have to start over again (unless there is a way to change a section's parenting without deleting it. ) since it'll fall apart quickly.
I'm liking the style you got going here, its as if you took modern day space vehicles, shorn off all the extraneous bits like solar panels and what not, then dressed them out with weapons in discreet locations. Kinda reminds me of Star Trek's Enterprise NX-01. Really cool!

Meet the Omega III. A fast and nimble interceptor designed to prevent enemies from flanking bigger larger ships like the Peacemaker V. Armed with the latest of weaponry makes this ship a force not to be underestimated.
Its main downside is its relative weak armor.

Next up the ''Gatekeeper of Collosus''. This enormous battlecruiser that was designed by Germany in 2145 is armored with state of the art laser weaponry. The ship is capable of slicing to anything it faces. Heavy armour plating and deflector shielding make it a very serious threat in the battlefield. German engineers used the Peacekeeper IV design and greatly expanded it potential. The engineers outfitted it with 2 Eraser class fusion reactor that power up the 2 SHEL (Super High Energy Laser) Shockbeams attached to it. The Germans also boosted the engines greatly, meaning it isnt slower then the orginal Peacekeeper IV.
Its main weakness is the back, where the armor is lower then other parts of the ship. Other weaknesses or mainly the same as the orginal Peacekeeper:

Reminds me more of the DY-500's, like the Botany Bay.
