updated blaster class (1.1)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

That point generally referred to specialists, i.e. bombers, ECM craft, PD boats, and the like. Yes, the Cronus is big and powerful, but the Oenone carries nearly as many beamers, and the Enyo I think actually outguns it, by sheer firepower. Then the Eos is barely armed at all besides a few Plasma charges and lots of particle guns.
The Oenone has it's flaws too. Like how it's small, with less armor. The Enyo has poor turnspeed, so you can flank it very easily. The Eos can be turned into a close-ranged monster if you just switch the attack/defense mode of the particle guns.

new destroyer and warship

Post by saded9812 »

I made new battle ships for my fleet.

On the warship i made the railguns shoot two at a time and made them red.

And on the destroyer i moded the side blasters to shoot three at a time.

The top ship is.. prickly. good, yes, but very prickly. The bottom is just fine. The real problem: change/improve the color schemes!
The colors are somewhat bad, especially with an exposed core that suddenly ZOMG purple itself.

My opinion. Thank you. Good night.

Other than that the designs are quite logical.

The extended pieces on the warship are win imo, do more of that! However, there are a number of layering areas and the color scheme is random. If you want bright and multicolored try looking at Ixranin's ships in the gallery, he pulls it off well.

Alright, take the warship, give it a colorscheme of only 2 or 3 colors that work well together, and give us a new screenie. It'll look a lot better, trust me.

Size doesn't matter at all when it comes to the fire power of a ship in my opinion. Obviously if you want it balanced against stock ships fair play, but being a big fan of the literature behind WH40K, smaller ships tend to have a lot more fire power than people might realise. Destroyers pack the punch, but very often you'll find its the corvette class ships that move in for the killing blow, nowhere near the biggest ships in the fleet, but armed to the teeth.

I have to agree on that one. As much as I love battleships being able to singlehandedly turn back a whole fleet, a well-armed destroyer can wreck things too.
Envision a 2nd grader with a Glock 9mm. Himself, he is not so threatening, but give him the same sidearm a trained soldier uses and the people he shoots will become exactly as dead as those shot by the soldier. Sure, the 2nd grader (in this case representing the corvette or gunship) may not use the Glock 9mm (representing an antimatter torpedo or molecular destabilization beam of your choice) with as much for or efficiency as the soldier (the battleship), but a bullet is a bullet, and bullets are not hard to shoot.

You have a layering mistake on your first battleship. The Secton 02 piece on the left side of the ship is below while on the right side, it is on top.

*Snipped for unrelativity. Check the first page for fixed colors.*

Alright. Let's see...

Top ship: Nice. Still resembles a Sinope with ablative armor added to it.

Middle ship(Left side): Looks like you combined the Enyo with the Hestia. Also looks ok.

Bottom ship: Meh, it's pretty average. My complaint is the amount of weapons you put on it(Including PD). Six pulses, eight particle guns, two gatpulses, two lasers, two railguns, two scatter lasers.....Jesus. Armed to the teeth.

Middle ship(Right side):I assume that this is supposed to be a very powerful ship. Something is bugging me about it though....

Overall: Nice ships, a few too many weapons, but the color scheme is a little off. I think it's the very faded purple that does it.

The colors are off due to the default brown-orange glow effect on them.
To fix that, go into 'Options' on the main menu, then click on the green text that says 'Colours' until the white text to the right of it reads 'Ship Glow'. Then, slide the sliders all the way to the left. This will make the ship glow black, which effectively nullifies it.
