Ageis question

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Ageis question

Post by drekisol »

does anyone know of a way of making them not actuly shield anything?

like have the line from the generator but no actul damage negation on the section it is conected to?

im trying to make tether lines and i found black shields look the best.

As far as I know, that's impossible. Unless you set the section itself to very low HP to make it easier to destroy.

Boosters can be used to create 'tether lines', but they have their own set of problems.

Namely, making weapons fire faster and automatically retargetting remaining sections if the original target section bites it.

Still, it might be preferable to aegis.

yes you can get agies generators to work like that.

you must make a small invisible section and place it underneath the section you want to connect to as a child of that section. then connect the agies generator to that small section. you will now have your connector line that looks like it goes to the section you want, and it will go away when the section blows up, and of course the agies won't shield the section because it is actually shielding the invisible section.

hope i helped

That sounds to me like a very sound solution, there is only one issue however. Tachyons will bounce when they hit that tiny chunk. Similarly it might block railguns.

Maybe you can use non-animating doodads?

Seems unlikely that they would hit that tiny section since it can be shrunk into oblivion, and so what if they did?

You might also be able to used a doothinimagigs, the ones that weapons go right through. Just shrink it into a line...
