Delta's Andromeda factions and assorted stuff

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

High as my standards my be, this isn't good even by the absolute lowest of my standards.

How should I improve the shape of the ships? Anna said they look like crap and they suck so what in the shape is wrong?
Its not that the shapes are horrific, its that theres nothing else visible. Give them some internal depth and shape and I imagine that would improve them a bit.

See, right now, I am honestly scared to post any criticism of your actions right here, as I am worried that something will explode and I'll break something and add yet another topic into the HoS, and even risk a temp-ban.

I may be out of line for saying this, but if you can give me evidence to convince me that these ships should die horrible burning deaths, I am willing to hear it. All I can say is that if it didn't help me, it certainly would give Deltaflyer a much clearer view of your opinion beyond "I've seen better ships from newbies."

its pretty obvious what he doesn't like about the ships

They're not his

In all honesty what he probably doesn't like is that they're internally flat. They're outlines aren't very interesting so you need to make up for that with interesting insides. As they are they're just blue and flat most of the time. As per the outlining I think its because outlining is supposed to draw attention to certain areas and as it is he's just drawing attention to the fact that his outline is pretty plain.

Thats just my guess

Yeah, but the guy is really REALLY scary.
Also: Yes, that seems to be valid in some twisted way. His ships are freaking amazing framerate killers....

But they look nice. :D
Back on topic, I think that Delta has the idea, but the forum's obsession with dark blue has GOT to stop. The default green looks ugly too...

Um... try...Notdark whatever, delta
As for Anna, that thing you posted about me sort of insulted me.
Please...just...I don't know. I've backed myself into a corner and you're standing over me with a knife, is what it feels like here. I also know you won't kill me, but you will probably stab me to an inch of death.

I'm not freaking out! I'm really scared that I'll get handed down a ban for vocally disagreeing with him! When I say vocally, I mean something like

"I think you could be a bit more helpful with this comment you made"
And try to log in the next day to find myself banned!

seems pretty freaked out to me.

you're fine, as long as you don't verbally abuse him or anything. You're asking for a simple clarification. Anna is grumpy, he's not stupid, he won't ban you for asking for clarification

He might mock or belittle you, but he does that with everyone. [/url]

Actually, this kind of idiocy and high level of cowardice are more likely to get you banned than starting an argument. Don't worry, we may be rude, but we're Rude For A Reason (tm)

I know it is discouraged to post your own ships in a thread, but I think this is a decent demonstration of what we mean by depth. some of my other ships demonstrate it better, but the screen shots are too big to go spamming up this thread.

do you see how on the ship I made how each level of the ship separated by outlining is also of a progressively darker shade? the outlining technique works well in conjunction with other tricks of depth. (ignore the black outline; it's armor)

your ship:

my ship:

also, the shape of the raised section is rather odd.

Yea but to me the top and the part below it are the same shade... :/

EDIT: as for noctis and skull 13,

Unless in my SHIPBUILDING thread you have something to CONTIRBUTE as per things like CRITISM or ADVICE, (not bickering and making a show of yourselves) then please, don't post or if you two feel the need to argue about how Anna is metaphorricaly going to stab you, make a thread for yourself.

I think that my ship uses 3 different shades of gray, but I would have to check.

The point is, do you see the difference in apparent depth by not having 2 different decks be the same color.

The same effect can be observed on some of the great shipbuilder's old threads if you look close enough. check Anna's thread at least.

Well, having revised my ideas, I have decided to begin work on a new project.

I give you: the MIF Nighthawk.

that is a very nice ship. I would try adding a little more detail all throughout the dark gray area. also, see about adding an actual color for outlines.

also, something about the middle wings bugs me. It's either the transition from front to middle, or just the middle wings appearing too fat. I'm not really sure. see what you can do with it.

EDIT: On second thought I think I'd just drop the canards
