Navy of the Republic of Alesia

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Yeah, I'm not terribly satisfied with it yet. As usual I won't call it finished until I'm satisfied, which may require chopping whole sections off. Any ideas?

I think it's starting to come together now.

try changing the aegis color up to get different effects. also, try just using near black aegis if parts of the ship look better unshielded, but must be for balance. also, I would suggest not making these long lines of sections a key part of your ship building style. they really do look flimsy, and you can't just add a barrel to all of your ships.

As you can see from the last page, I r bad at making hulls with areas more than a few sections wide ):

really, all you would have to do is splice on a scaled down version of those already existing arms to the outsides of the ship, and it would improve the looks a lot.

Which already existing arms? Splice them how?

extending from the core, there are two large arms holding the Demeter launchers. repeat the existing pattern you have there to make the arm/wing things wider, and therefore look sturdier.

also, the front of the ship could use some expansion.

I did that "splicing" thing you were talking about; does this look better?:

The engines are parented directly to the energy-beam things. I'm obviously going to have to put a lot more armor on the front.

Is a Demeter reload of 60 and lifetime of 900 too much for 36 drone launchers?...

I'm pretty much stuck unless I have some sort of epiphany (or someone else has it for me).

Should I scrap this for now and just move on to a new ship? (Assuming I'm not addicted to Fallout 3 for the next few weeks)
