History
The Thunderhost is a republic of 5 sentient races.
Each race joined the Thunderhost republic for a different reason.
Humanity joined the Thunderhost after they explored a bit from the galaxy in the year 3500, thats when the new spaceship propulsion system was invented.
Communication was a bit hard to start, but after some years, a translator device was invented and used troughout the entire thunderhost.
In 3504 Humanity gained a official seat in the senate, and now they are also part of controlling this peaceful and vast republic.
The reason of humanity to join this republic is becuase of social reasons, as they finally meet aliens to communicate with, and share things with.
There are currently 2 enemies of the republic.
1 : Pirates which have only minor strength and the thunderhost set up a privateering station to hire merc`s for escort and search jobs.
2 : The derelay are nothing but scrap ships that came to life, no one really knows how.
What the thunderhost does know that these ships attack some regions, and minor derelay attacks are constant.
These constant minor attacks are so weak, that the small weak derelay ships are being captured and released as targets for a rookie pilot`s exam to become a pro.
As both the pirates and the derelay have no way to communicate, there is no real official war, but they are considered as enemies you should keep a eye on.


Weapons

Light laser turret
The lasers are nothing more than mining tools which can create damage on fighters and a capital ship`s shields and subsystems.
there are light lasers and heavy lasers, heavy lasers are only some rare lasers used on special ships.

Fighter Supression Turret
This is a quad turret using modified light lasers to bring high speed, swarming bullets to the enemy fighters at a high fire rate.
Extreme damage to fighters, but nothing else.

Torpedo Launch Bay
This is a pretty basic weapon, a torpedo with high damage to hull and almost no damage to shields.
The torpedoes can be shot down by laser turrets and fighters, but capital ships and bomber squads first deplete the target`s shields and then make a volley together.
Good againts capital and frigates, can be used againts corvettes and fighters, but i doubt the torpedo will hit it.

The railgun blast turret
A very known powerfull anti capital/frigate weapon.
A highly customizeable weapon for different turret mounts, gun mounts and even use the railguns as ships themselves! (adding wings and a truster to use as a bomber drone)
The most railguns are in X1, X2 and modified X3 battleship turrets.
Moderate damage againts both shields and hull.

EMP Bolter
An unusual and rare weapon, this weapon uses bolts of EMP to bring heavy damage to shields, and disable subsystems.
These guns are only seen in X2 mount turrets on only the cruiser class vessels.
Word says there is research on a huge EMP gun that will disable entire fleets within a single shot, but this has not been confirmed yet.


Ships

Wistle class interceptor
Armament.
2 fixed light lasers
2 Light engines.
1 Simulator device.
This is a fast and manouverable interceptor with a simulator device on the back to train rookie pilots.
These ships are also used in battle in large numbers.
However, it got a weak firepower and is mostly used againts torpedoes or bombers.

Wasp Class Fast Interceptor
Armament.
2 Double fixed rapid fire light lasers.
1 Special Engine.
This interceptor is very fast, got decent armor for its size, and has very powerfull rapid fire guns.
The rapid fire lasers are weaker, but fire with a extremely high fire rate and so this ship is perfect againts fighters and bombers.

Stinger Class Bomber
Armament.
2 torpedo launchers.
1 Turreted Light laser
1 Double fixed rapid fire light laser.
1 Engine (below tailgun)
This is the stinger class bomber, a pretty bomber with heavy armor for a fighter class ship.
Slow, and armed with a tailgun, this bomber bears torpedoes to hit and kill crippled frigates or volley againts a large capital.
This bomber is not used to fly around untill teh ships shields are down, the nose gun helps to deplete shields or destroy anti torpedo subsystems like light laser turrets.

Hunter Class Gunboat
Armament.
4 Medium Engines.
16 Manouver mini engines.
4 Light Laser turrets.
This corvette sized gunboat rolls around a battle, firing at shielded targets, but mostly hunting fighters.
Its deadly, effective, dangerous and fast.

Spear class bomber
Armament.
2 Triple Extreme Rapid fire lasers.
2 Turreted light lasers.
4 Medium Engines.
16 Manouver mini Engines.
4 Torpedo Bays.
A very unusual and extrordinary design, this is a bomber with the size of a corvette.
It got triple extrme rapid fire lasers, which punch a big hole in a shield, creating a place for torpedoes to hit on its own!

Big Rear Class Frigate
Armament.
4 Heavy Engines.
4 Light Laser Turrets.
4 Torpedo bays.
2 Forward Mounted Railgun Blast Cannons.
A steady ship for escort and patrol duties, this ship is nicely armored and got enough weaponry to survive alone in a battle.
The forward mounted railguns give it a role in attacking defense platforms and light space stations.

River Class Cruiser
Armament.
3 X2 Railgun Blast Turrets.
8 Light Laser turrets.
2 Fighter Supression Turrets
8 Heavy engines.
This cruiser is light for its size, decent armored and got the looks for a cruise ship.
This ship is also used as a cruise ship for VIP`s and Rich people who want to go to their job, or on holidays.
For years this ship has held off pirate raids and derelay attacks.

Rogus Class Heavy Cruiser
Armament.
6 X2 Railgun Blast Turrets.
4 Light Laser Turrets.
3 EMP bolters.
8 Heavy Engines.
This monster of a cruiser is a powerfull ship used only in military fleets and starbase protection.
Monster armor, heavy shields, and great weaponry to defeat any capital ship.
This ship has defeated some battleships becuase of its speed, which is low, but good enough to manouver to a battleship`s weak spot.

Mercy Class Battleship
Armament :
10 light laser turrets.
10 shotgun flak turrets.
8 Torpedo bays.
2 Battleship Railgun Blast Turrets.
4 Mega Engines.
This battleship is a nightmare, the first capital with torpedoes.
It is called the mercy becuase the first enemy was begging for it, and that will never be forgotten.

Homeless Class Space Station
Armament.
4 Defense Platform launchers.
12 Repair Bays.
2 X2 Railgun Blast Turrets.
8 Light Laser Turrets
This station is nicely armed, armored and shielded.
It got the repair bays enough to repair a Rogus class cruiser.
This station also got housing, services and farms so the crew lives in the station instead of going to work everyday, which is more effective.
These stations are mostly found at importand places such as trading routes and outpost territories.
The station has an emergency system for the crew and communications to get ready for battle.

Pretty good weapons there, and I like the station. Try using various colors or shades also.

I have to say, While at first the look of your ships threw me off, I'm now growing to appreciate them. I especially like how you essentially built your own custom weapons for your fleet, very nice. You seem to have a good number of weapons on most of your ships, not too many, not too few. The overall design and "look" of the hulls is pretty nice too, although some of the smaller ones are a bit lacking for my taste.

Overall, nice fleet and interesting back story.

Your custom turrets are most impressive to say the least, i would like to see more of what you come up with and you have given me a few ideas for what im working on as well ^^

I like the creativity of you trying to make new turrets. However, I am kinda downed by the fact that you didn't bring that creativeness with a colour scheme for your fleet. The white is ok I guess but after showing your turrets, I did expect something better than just white.

I think I've seen one thread about this but it was a long time ago and they didn't do as much as you cuz it was the older version of the game. These are nice and you should continue to put them in your ships.

Do you know about how to cover weapons? You put both on the same coordinates, same range, reload and turnspeed. Then you put 0 burst for the weapon(s) you don't want to actually fire. It helps for covering up beams or something with cannon turrets cuz then it turns with the actual weapon. For the ones with no burst just put 0 range but they won't turn.

good job, keep using this thread and work on your ships, I'd say. Your obviously figuring some things out, just keep refining and looking for ideas. I found some great ones by dredging old threads.

Okay, first, here's a disclaimer: This is my advice. You are free to take it or leave it. This is not a personal attack on you, it's criticism of your ships that is intended to be helpful.

Now, onto that.

First thing I'll comment on is the turrets. They're a bit excessive. I can understand why you'd try for them, but for the most part, they don't really look good. The stretching of the weapons is so obvious, and they look even worse when the weapons try to aim at something, I imagine.

Onto the ships, now. Well, I'm not sure where to start. They're all one flat, bland colour, this has been said. The major problem with it, I think, is the lack of internal fidelity. It looks like you mostly just threw sections together mostly at random for the internal structure, and then just made an outline. The use of right-angles on the external structure of some of them is rather jarring in comparison to the rest of the shapes, which are more curved or angled.

The space station actually looks pretty decent, though. Not perfect, but pretty good.

Over-all, I'd say work more on making internal structures, try experimenting with more than one colour, and finally, maybe try some different shapes. Also, rows of jagged bits coming out the sides of a ship typically look awkward unless done sparingly.

Good advice seraph, i agree a bit, you mean the frigate and cruiser`s shape don't ya?
And i do think about the turrets going far out of sync.

If your making a typical broadside battleship, those double barreled guns work if you treat them like fixed emplacements that can't turn. Give them a arc of like 5 or 10, which actually makes them fire in random order and at different parts of the target as if different people were manning them.

the front feels too far extended, and the space on the front doesn't really work (too close together and not echoed anywhere else on the ship, except for the engines which you would probably not want to echo...). The middle just feels awkward, as the "raised" (white area) ends far too sharply and is just so much of a contrast it's ugly. The wings are too thin, and too angular on the corners. and the back... just... eh...

There is some pretty good detailing there, but you really have to look for it, as they color scheme just doesn't let it stand out.

look at what other people do with engines and wings, make the wings a bit larger, etc. frankly, it feels like three or 4 different ships to me. and, lastly, check your mirroring, especially on the wings. and having those turret bases with no turrets on them is... unfortunate. it's getting there (somewhat) but it's not really that much better. And saying that it's a lot better generally pisses people off.
