The Hammer of God (Finished?) - Now With Download

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

HoG VS HoG

first post on this forum

newayz, Seeing as I had time and didn't mind wasting 30 minutes watching a frame by frame battle I pitted two Hammer of Gods against each other.

Turns out if u hit it head on the first time, it doesn't do that much though to the impeders slowing down and eventually stopping the Sun Cannon before it does too much damage

forgot to take screeny after first shot. newayz:

forgive me for posting too many images

after shot two. kinda missed, shaving off one of the spikes

Image
after shot three. looks completely demolished.

Absoluetely amazing and unexpected. despite being hit by the Sunfire Cannon and having EVERYTHING incinerated to pieces, the core remains. The shrapnel took off about 1500 HP.

and just cuz the Hammer of God is such an awesome Super Cannon, I just couldn't resist.

i love it when little things make a big boom
In my battleships forever history I have made:

8 newb drones
3 newb fighters
5 newb battleships
0 worthwhile things

P.S. maybe you should explain in enough detail that it goes into a txt download how those weapons work, exactly, with every stat of every... pulsar?... listed. still, i must say, it's great!
I'll probably give out the sb3 file once I'm done with this, then you can figure out whatever you want with it.
The ship has its good parts, but there is still too large a transition from the center, to the stocky body, to the curved arms.
I've been trying out a few things to see if I can reduce that a bit. I really don't want to change the spikes because I really like the way they turned out, but I've been messing around with some other stuff.

*Update*

So here are some of the tweaks I've been making on the ship. I'm still not sure if I really like the way they turned out, but we'll see.

I curved the area around the main core of the ship, and I also added some spines to the side of the ship. I think it lessens the blocky look some, but I'm still not sure I like it. I also corrected a few mirroring errors and such that are probably fairly unnoticeable. Oh yeah, I also shrunk and aegised the two little circles on the end of the spikes.

The total section count currently stands at 790.

Let me know what you think about the changes. I'm still on the fence about them, so feedback is appreciated.

This is a thing of beauty, and a freakishly powerful one at that. I used it to slag either a Hammer of Dawn II or the Fort Mesopotamia (forum search it, I'm lazy) in three shots each.

Superb work.

Is that a "it needs more curves" or "the version with more curves is better"?

Thanks. Glad you like it.
