The Hammer of God (Finished?) - Now With Download

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Thanks Seraph. That actually solves my problem with the deviation too, I just stretched the pulsar to create a bigger projectile. The new version now looks pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. I'll try to get some screenshots up of the new and improved Sunfire Cannon soon.

I just noticed that the Driver sprite is backwards, but the weapon shoots foward, but it actually looks good that way.

Currently it delivers 200,000 damage in all

Sorry, but there are lines. You're crossing them. Nice effect, though.

Damage statistics of the XSIPL-66 Lucifer: Total accumulated damage - 540,000.

*Looks around* Why, I have no idea what you're talking about. What line?

Yeah, I was fooling around with various things to try and give the gun the effect I wanted, and that really seemed to work. I like the way that turned out.

Sorry, but there are lines. You're crossing them. Nice effect, though.
Eh, I may tweak it around before everything is said and done. I'm not really trying to balance it against anything, so the numbers are pretty inconsequential. And, after all, it is basically a cannon whose sole purpose is to rip capital ships to shreds.

Hmm, my firsat thought after seeing that weapon fire was "OMG, super Gluon Bolter".
But then i read on and now i know its not...
I wonder - could you make a Gluon Bolter do that and would that acheive similar results without crashing the game?

Hey, I just learned something. It doesn't do 540,000 damage. It only does 54,000.

tee - A super-Gluon could be pretty cool, though it would probably slow you to a crawl.

*Update*

I've got the first pictures of the Hammer's engine system. It isn't done yet, I plan to add more engines around it, but here's the general design.

With Red Section Aegised

I can't decide whether or not I want the red section underneath the "flames" to be aegised or not, so I included both and you guys can tell me what you like better.

I'm still tweaking the firing arcs and stuff for the Sunfire Cannon to make sure it all works like I want it to, then I'll put some screenshots of that up, as well as hopefully finishing up the rest of the engine sometime soon.

Personally I would either go for the flames or the red Aegis, but not both.

I'd go for both, but I wouldn't have the flames spreading out, and instead more in a cone-like shape. Oh, beautiful ship by the way.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I mucked around with it a bit, and I think I like the look of Verminator's suggestion.

Here's the expanded engine section.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Now I just need to tweak the Sunfire Cannon till I'm happy with it, then arm the rest of the thing.

I'l have a download once I finish the thing, but I don't want to put it out there until I'm satisfied with the end result.

You'd have to let your ship sit still and take the shot if you wanted to test that, it's easy for ships with even mediocre speed to dodge because of the delayed firing time. That's why it's a capital ship destroyer.
