Imperial Star Destroyer

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Imperial Star Destroyer

Post by MethaneChicken »

I remember there was an ISD for an earlier version of BSF, but I never got to see or try it, so I decided to make my own. What I aimed for was the sort of original intent of the ISD, a heavy hitting, powerful anti-capital ship.

It looks good in general, and aside from the main batteries, I just organized symmetrical weaponry across the rest of it. The 8 main batteries have been somewhat modified to be more powerful (though I have no scale to go on to say how powerful), but the rest of the weapons remain unmodded. I threw stats onto it without much concern, meaning I'll probably have to tweak that a lot, so eh.

I personally am not all that happy with the outcome, but I am a perfectionist, and they say the harshest critic of a work is its creator. I may upload it when I'm more comfortable with its looks/stats, etc. So let me know what you think.

looks very good, the only thing i can see to improve on is the equipment. give it a few hangers to simulate the tie squads, a few flosch(sp?) guns to act like ion cannons and a jump drive.

That doesn't have even anywhere near enough guns.

Shralla; take in mind when I retooled Boba's Acclamator to have a more accurate number of turrets, two would fight to a standstill because they'd shoot down eachother's blaster barrages (quadblaster stats shoehorned into stock blasters, and something like 24 particle guns) never mind the shields. :P

Assuming it's an Imperial-I, the loadout would be;

Code: Select all

Dual heavy turbolaser turrets (6)
Dual heavy ion cannon turrets (2)
Quad heavy turbolasers (2)
Triple medium turbolasers (3)
Medium turbolasers (2)
Taim & Bak XX-9 heavy turbolasers (60)
Borstel NK-7 ion cannons (60)[1]
Phylon Q7 tractor beam projectors (10)
An Imperial-II, however, has;

Code: Select all

Octuple barbette turbolaser cannons (8)
Additional turbolaser cannons and batteries (>36)
Ion cannons (20)
Phylon Q7 tractor beam projectors (10)
Data from the Wookieepedia.

So when do we get to see more advanced Eclipse-class and Executor-class Destroyers?

I think it looks rather good, and given the scope of the game,I don't think the downscaling of weapon numbers really affects the overall design.
