Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!
Since every fleet needs an enemy, here are the Templar warships - enemies of the Emerald Armada:
Templar Crusader class Medium Battleship Designed for long-range combat, the Crusader is also capable of stand-alone behind enemy lines missions. In combat, it's main weapon are the quad missile launchers, every of them firming almost every second a pack of dual warheads
[design note: There are in fact six deflector on this ship [all with a nice, white glow]. Four are linked to the front 'bridge', while two remain to the back 'bridge'. This reflect the ship loosing it's bridge as a large tactical disadvantage. Without additional editing, the hp stands at 300k]

Updated with fighting pics. Thou I thing I'll have to redo those launchers, not because I thing they are too powerful , but rather because that much projectiles slows down the game to minimum fps
@bien&Spoot: Thanks, took me the whole yesterday evening to design the shape and so on with paper&pencil
@derekiv: Sorry..? [blame my failure dictionary on not understanding that ]
Soon to be shown:

Inspired by vVhorpax's ship style?
Who? Link please
Naah, yesterday I watched something on Discovery about the templars, and I've got this idea of making some hardy ships, asymmetrical and with red crosses 8)
And thanks, I'll try to keep up with the design

That's an interesting design. It looks like I'm viewing it from the side.

Actually, the cross is a default colour, [at least afair I set it that way ], so it will change colour depending on the players base. And, the red cross is the symbol of the Templar fleet

Yeah, that's something that happened along with the design. But that fades, when you turn it 'upsidedown' in the sandbox. And, try looking at it as a topside view

Ah I see. Guess I can't really complain about it... Just doesn't fit into my universe where firing on ships that are white with a red cross is a breach of a fundamental rule of conduct in warfare..
I do have to admit, I was a bit reluctant to post my complaint in the first place, because it really does look very nice.

In some cultures firing on a clearly marked hospital vessel is to be reviled and disguising a combat vessel as a hospital ship is just low down rotten. Maybe the enmity between the emerald fleet and the templars is a misunderstanding.

I'm still wondering thou, should it be a starfigher, rather then a corvette... it's a bit bigger then the Emerald Issirk [about two to three times]. And I know that it's a bit less innovative as the Crusader, but as a strafighter, I didn't want to make it to complex.
And I think hat the Templars won't have any 'blue orbs' 8)
