Hi,
<3 the work on the B5 ships.
Being a rabid Centauri fan however, i have noticed that the Primus seems to be undergunned.
I have noticed that you are basing your ships in what was shown on B5, rather than the hordes of (often not terribly good) fan and Mongoose Publishing materials.
However the Primus has 4 dual mounted Battle Lasers - on both the topside and underside of the hull. Thats at least 16 guns you have to account for, whether that be by increasing the damage of the dual mounted guns on the 'top' of the hull.
She is also armed with a very very formidable array of anti fighter (flak or pulse) - this isnt reflected at all i don't think in your model. This was shown in B5, i can't remember when, when the Narn fighters attacked the Primus.
I will say again however, these are great ships!
Psst - any plans to add a Mass Driver style weapon to the Primus hull? When you absolutely have to obliterate continents, fire one at a ship too!

On the primus, I thought the 4 lasers were suposed to be in these 2 packs of 2 fins in the front of the center zone of the wings. That's what happens with weapons not seen on the show, it gets confusing to me.admiral_tee wrote:Hi,

So yes, I am ignoring moongose publications and basing myself directly from the show. My policy is clear. If I see a weapon being used on the show, I will put it on the ship. If I don't, I skip it (I wouldn't know which colour should it be, or which rate of fire shoud I give to it...) but if it is on the show, I will make it work. So I discard any source of weapon information besides the show itself.
HOWEVER: if any of you ever consider a change to any of the ships is necessary, do not doubt to mention it. If you can back your statement by stating a certain episode of the series where the ship can be seen doing what you mention, or a youtube vid (even better), or a screenshot from the show... be sure I will update the ship with your information.
About the mass driver, I thought a lot about it. Originaly, I was going to add it, but finally I decided not to, since vorchans retrofited with orbital bombardment devices where not designed to shoot them at ships, if I am not wrong. But you can try to convince me otherwhise though. Or trick me into making a Mass-Driver-Equiped version of the Primus to be added as a separate ship.
About it being undergunned, yes, it is, in comparison with what is listed about it. But in fact, I believe all the ships in this fleet have less than 1/3 the weapons B5tech lists for them, so I don't think centauri have suffered discrimination. Their battle performance is about what I wanted it to be, although it might change, of course.
-and if I ever do babylon5 (doubtful, since it doesn't fit into the editor, it wouldn't load in the game) the forward fins would not have a lot of HP, do not worry

The thing is about the times I talk about there being weapons on a ship that I would like to see changed or added on to these ships, I can't actually show them myself because you don't seen them on the show, but there are weapon loadout lists with the weapons, like on the Avioki, I can't give pictures of it firing its particle beams, but references do state they exist.
And the Battle Lasers on the Primus are on the winglets like you say 2500kgm3.
And I would say if you are making more ships, add the two gates too for lulz.

I have been mostly silent because there is no database to upload ships to, but I have been working on some more ships for next release.
These include:
-G.O.D Aegis Platform (you don't want to be in front of it when the laser is ready to shoot)
-Centauri Primus with mass driver (fire it and you will finally understand why this weapon was forbidden by civilised races :twisted:)
-Omega-X (great to shoot whiterstars with
)
-Shadow battlecrab type B (finally a decent rival for the new Vorlon Dreadnought)
-Civilian ships (including the Asimov luxury liner (which is kinda big indeed) the Saturn freighters and tankers...
-Raider battlewagon (Maybe I should give it a dietterling device....
)
-Psi-corps command ship
...
just to give you a taste of it:

There are 2 ships I would like to do too. First: the T'Loth class ship from the narn Regime. Second: The Olympus Class Corvette.
The problem with these is... I have never seen them firing, so I don't know which weapons to equip them with. So this is a request for you. If any of you do know any scene of any of these ships firing (maybe the Olympus fires in the Background of In The Beginning, for instance) please let me know.

I think this goes more on the side of what we want to keep: the feeling of the show, or that of the miniature games, roleplaying games and such. I am here for the show. of course, if you look at any ship in b5 tech, it will give you an obscene ammount of weapons, most of them you would never see on the show. My intent is to recreate battles from the show, and that means sticking to it.The thing is about the times I talk about there being weapons on a ship that I would like to see changed or added on to these ships, I can't actually show them myself because you don't seen them on the show, but there are weapon loadout lists with the weapons, like on the Avioki, I can't give pictures of it firing its particle beams, but references do state they exist.

About 1:15 into In The Beginning:
Londo: "Noone who saw them fighting against the inevitable could help but be moved to tears by their courage..."
{Olympus class corvette, firing four forward pulse cannons at a bazillion Minbari capital ships}
PS:
Is there any way to reduce the shoving effect of parts getting blown off?
It really hinders control when you're bouncing around due to minor damage

I agree with you with the debris damage. it makes things hard to control, specially with no Point Defense. I have no idea of how to change it. I'd be glad to do so, but I don't know if it's possible.SuicideJunkie wrote:About 1:15 into In The Beginning:

Thanks! lots of thanks about the footage information! That has allowed me to work on the Olympus and get it ready for release!
As you can see, it also includes an Earth Alliance Station, and the Shadow Scout.

With these ships, there are already 27 ships (yes, 27) in the Babylon 5 fleet!
And now, I have to say I am getting bored of not having the database working, so I have decided to use another kind of service. I hope it is something I won't have to do for a long time.
HERE YOU HAVE THE DOWNLOAD FOR THE 9TH RELEASE OF THE BABYLON5 FLEET BY 2500kgm3! as usual, it includes all previous ships too, tweaked and rebalanced.

Enjoy and remember to give me feedback on the matter.
Doubleposting because of an update:
The Tinashi Class War Frigate, from the Minbari Federation has been added to the list of functional ships.

If anyone has any request, please tell me.
The fleet already consists of 28 ships.
Remember to tell me if you have ever seen the T'loth firing too
