It's of Alien / Pirate design, and incorporates the Alien Repeater and Scatterbeam technology with the Pirate (or Terran, considering they both pretty much use the same weapons) Missile, Shock Beamer and Deflectors.

Includes sufficient Point Defense capabilities to serve as some odd kind of ship that does stuff with Point Defense SLOWLY (I don't want to say frigate, but that's what's coming to mind right now..).

It's a work-in-progress, which is why I'm asking for criticism. I'm thinking it could either be slowed considerably (or possibly made into a station at some point) to play a more canonical role as a Frigate or sped up, have the HP raised and become a carrier..

The picture works perfectly for me, even when logged out, so I've added the url for the photobucket picture.

I'll try to do get a better picture up soon, which should resolve this issue entirely.

It seems overgunned, but then at the same time, most of that weaponry is pretty short-ranged. Your pulse gatlings look to have a mirroring error (unless you intend to have two stacked atop each other) but otherwise it's good. Probably do a nice job tearing into anything it could catch, but get ripped to shreds by anything that could maintain distance.

Whoops. Didn't notice the pulse cannon error, thank you.

I think, if a fleet were built along with this ship (which might happen), the strategy would be to use a faster craft to lure the ship in range of the Ayahuasca, then try to hold it there or destroy it quickly.

I suppose it's some odd kind of balance (the range restrictions)?
