Obviously someone from the Castro family is going to take over the Regime there, and we'll still be upset about it.
Actually, I'd like to quote a comment from another forum. This person has a degree in Political Science, if it means anything ;D.

Anyway, my 2 cents as a poly sci major:
I, myself, do not believe that the socialist government in cuba will fall anytime soon, and I think it is essential for the next president of the United States to mend our ties with the country. The Cold War is over, and we must accept the fact that the Cuban government is here to stay. It is absurd that our country continues to basically deny the sovereignty of Cuba. If the United States really wants to bring social reform to people of Cuba, it must lift its restrictions first.

If censorship was mandatory, we would set the forums to filter offensive words out. As we have chosen not to, censorship is by choice of the poster.
The US as I see it is too used to using it's clout to get away with things, which doesn't really work in places like the Middle East as we've seen, and there's no reason to expect it'd go any better in Cuba IMO. I expect they will probably try to press for democracy (ironic, perhaps, that the way the things have been going in the US with things sliding -away- from democracy) and will probably fail.
"Appropriate military force" my ass. The US cannot just do that without getting a ton of flack from the rest of the world. They can't send in the Marines like that. 's not gonna work.
I think the guy in Shiemtek's quote has it right. The Cold War is over. Carrying a big gun is all well and good, but it's better to speak softly first.

.. Especially when you live in a world which has the capability to destroy itself thrice over with it's "weapons of protection"Arcalane wrote:If censorship was mandatory, we would set the forums to filter offensive words out. As we have chosen not to, censorship is by choice of the poster.

I don't believe it's possible for the United States to intervene in Cuba (again.. >,<) without getting a horrible amount of international pressure, which we really don't need right now. Then again, we've got the craziest loon in office right now, so there's no telling what we'll do..
And I can't tell you how [sarcasm]good[/sacrasm] that feels.
Hopefully the power will slide from the president back to the congress.
FDR, if you didn't help end the depression and win WW2, I'd call you a dictator.

Ok, so how do you plan to attack Cuba? It may be an island of your coast, but they know that as well as you do. If you think Iraq was bad, Cuba will make it look like a dispute between 2 6 year olds. They aren't a nation of people who would do anything to get away from their dictator, one who are conscripted and will run away at the sight of a non-friendly jet. They will fight.Master Chief wrote:Haha, that loser finally resigned...
I AM waiting for the day the US uses appropriate military force against Cuba...and when I mean military force, I mean those under-armed troops simply stroll in with toy guns and bubble makers.

I just think US should quit sticking it's nose in places where it will be broken.
And they probably will, if one of the democrats gets chosen.

They'll carry on as they are now: Burn fossil fuels, increase global temperature, raise sea level and flood Cuba.Mjolnir wrote:Ok, so how do you plan to attack Cuba?
Look Up
upon reading this:
50% of people will have scrolled up
25% will have looked at their ceiling
The last 25% can now feel smug because everyone else has taken orders from a little sig box.
