Yeah. Last thing I heard Catholics didn't have to pay to be Catholic. Also, there are masses of people who are Catholic and retain good bonds with their family.

1. Charity. You're not FORCED to give anything.Out here it is customary to pay a small, symbolic fee for the priest to hold a special mass for your dearly departed. The man has got to eat too...and heating up the church during the winter isn't free either.
2. Extremists of any idelogical movement or train of thought have a tendency to dislike others. Your own words could easily be interpreted as intolerance of hatered towards catholics...which raises the question...are you?

what they need to do is get rid of all the people who say they are but aren't. They're what give organized religion a bad name.
I'll bet you alot of the people resposnsible for starting the crusades were not Christians, let alone in it for the 'good deeds'. Just to line their pockets with the spoils of war.

No. All the Crusades didnt fail. Christians owned Jerusalem for quite a while. And not all the crusades were to the Holy Land, and not all of them even aimed to take Jerusalem. There was a Crusade to slaughter "heretic" French Peasants.
