Omegan Empire Fleet

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Yeah, that helped! Thanks! I was wondering because like I said, my larger ships were REALLY durable, but I checked against another ship and found that it was actually the weapons. The bulk of the Leviathan's weapons, the MegaBeams, have only 1 for damage. I com[paired it to damage for a standard Blaster, and found that the Blaster, damage 17, is far MORE powerful! Why is that? That would make the Blasters a better choice for weapons than the beams, which sucks because I like beams. Would it unbalance anything if I was to change the weapon damages? I actually did that with the rebuild of the Protus Class which I have a screen of here:

Image

I have it along side a standard Hestia for scale. You can see the general stats on the screen, but here is the loadout:
2x Scatter Beam (Dmg=10)
1x Missile Launcher (Reload=10, Damage=50)
3x Point Beam
2x Deflector Device
3x Thruster

Again, I like beams, so I am currently in the process of working beams into my ship designs. What do you think?

Damage on beams is PER FRAME.
There are, at standard, 30 frames per second.
A 10-damage beam will do 300 damage in 1 second.

Beams have low Damage-Per-Frame, because they're hard to stop (deflectors and rorshaschhsachascsI can't SPELL), are typically very accurate, and hit instantly. Plus they have very narrow "hitboxes", and as such are better at finding kinks in the enemy's armor, especially when you take into account BSF's somewhat dodgy hit detection. :\

Here is the second ship in my fleet: The Stryker Class. I have it fleet formation with the Hestia and two of my Protus Class ships.
Image

I tried to mimic the Defiant from Star Trek with this design. Fast and maneuverable, but I have it set on Normal AI, because i wasn't sure if I should have it set to Flanking AI for not. Again, it's stats are on the screen, and here is the loadout:

4x Blaster (to simulate the pulse phasers)
1x Missile Launcher
2x Point Beam
1x Scatter Beam (because you always saw it fire a few phaser shots at passing targets in the show)
2x Deflector Device
4x Thruster

I am still in the process of coloring the beam, that's why you don't see any action shots. What do you think?

On another note: Why the trolling? We're all friends here, right?

On a second note: I was thinking of making a few ships the are just like my current ships, but slightly different, and giving them actual names, to set them apart from the rest. Here is an example: The USS Enterprise from Star Trek: TNG, is a Galaxy Class, but is slightly better than a standard Galaxy Class because it has better engines and weapons because Geordi Laforge (and the Traveler to an extent) have worked on them and because it has a better than average crew. Like that. What do you think of the idea?

I just finished building my first legendary ship, but I am still testing it. I think that after my fleet is done, I will make a separate fleet download for all the legend ships.

Sorry for the double post, but this is actual update. I have finished another few ships, including a heavy cruiser, but before I post it, I want to get to giving my fleet a general color scheme. Now I have two color schemes in mind:

1. - Silver main hull with Gold ablative armor

2. - Red bridge section, red hull sections that house weapons, and white ablative armor

I am keen on having the armor a bright color, since the design philosophy of the fleet is going to be "knights in shining armor", because they see themselves as saviors of the galaxy, and rightly so, as they are the good guys. I just can't decide though. I like the 'knight' look, but I also I patriotic person that like red, white, and blue. I tried the white ablative armor with a dark hull, but it didn't look right to me, and white ablative armor with a white hull doesn't make it stand out. What do y'all think?

EDIT: My computer is giving me trouble right now, so when it is acting right, I'll post a picture of the two color types side by side for comparison.

Okay, sorry for the triple, but this is another actual update. I have colored two of my ships for you guys to judge on which is better in color. I am almost finished with my fleet, and I took the liberty of renaming the topic title.

Okay, here is the pic:
Image

The larger selected ship is the Valience Class (yes, that is how I want it spelled) Heavy Cruiser, and the smaller ship is the Noble Class Light Cruiser.

The Valience has all weapon-armed sections colored red, the main control areas colored blue, and the armor white.

The Noble Class has all white interior with gold armor. Which one looks better?

Also, in case you are wondering, the other ship in the formation (other than the Hestia), is one of the Legend ships that I have built. This one is the O.I.V. Akilla, an upgraded Stryker Class vessel. You like?

O.I.V. Akilla?

...Did you really think that would get past me?
Must be one hell of an upgrade over the Stryker to have a name like "Overkiller". 8)
