B5 Forever

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Funny thing is, I'm not kidding...
weapons ARE customized, and the fleet has been balanced to what I thought would be right. The fact is the Warlock has only been seen in a fight once, and it was against modified Vorchans, in The Lost Tales. And yes, its beam weapons are white, no Idea of why. There is no other canon evidence of the power of this ship: about 10 seconds of combat against an enemy of unknown strenght

So I don't know where your statement of "obliterating the sharlin in one shot" may come from. Even if their beams are based in the GOD defense grid, I doubt this means their power has to be in the same scale. I will consider making the warlock beams more powerful in the next release, however.

One thing thouvgh, the warlock isn't symetrical. it's "docking bay area" on the opposite side is different, the rear half is cut off. Also, it's forward guns seem a bit weak...

edit: mabye that's jsut becasue you based them off piddly mining beams....

As for next ship to make... Nova alpha plz!!!!!
Can you give me a pic to ilustrate this assymetry on the warlock? I will change that model accordingly.

And you got me lost with "Nova alpha". I feel embarased for my ignorance. Could you explain yourself further? I might know it by another name

Hmm...the weapons were stated as such by the person who designed the Warlock for the show, they're exactly like the ones on the G.O.D. platforms.

Tim Earls? you mean? I am sure he intended the beams to be that weapon. This is what we got, however:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr-EiUSUnhw

Yellow-white beams shot on a ship of unknown resistence.

Anyway, I have upgraded the beams. they are now doing about 2.5 times the damage they did before, and have better range. They are much more satisfying to shoot a vorchan with.

about the shape of the ship, I followed this:

http://www.b5tech.com/earthalliance/ear ... kviews.jpg

But I will tweak it a bit, since maybe I did wrong by mirroring the upper view of the ship, and yours seems to fit in some way with the side view.

Ok, since Battleships forever itself udated to the next version.... time for a new UPDATE for B5Forever!

Now all ships use the propper colours -or at least, nearly propper colours- for their weapons, and we have...

not one
not two
BUT TREE BRAND NEW SHIPS!

These new ships are:

The Brakiri Avoki Cruiser (as requested)
The Vree Xill Saucer
The Drazi SunHawk gunship

I have also included some minor changes to other ships. Here you can see all ships in formation, new ones included:

As usually, I am open to any request you might have.

Now, a warning. To allow easier clasification for our ships and have an easier time finding which ship to drop into the sandbox scenario, I have changed the file name for each ship, adding the race or home planet it belongs to at the beginning of the name of the ship. This allows the computer to group the files for all the ships of the same race.

So please, to avoid problems with previous versions, remember to DELETE your current version of these ships and download this new pack, which as always includes all the ships in the fleet.

HERE you have the download
http://www.wyrdysm.com/battleshipsforev ... m3_v07.rar

Coments? requests? suggestions? what next ship should I work on? The tinashi minbari war frigate? the vorlon cruiser? bigger battlecrabs? civilian ships? I don't think I am going to do the Olympus Class Corvette, since I have never seen it shooting...

I'd say the Vorlon Cruiser, but you'd need something like the Death Star laser, since the ends of the arms produce that energy field to make the beam.
I should also add that the points on the Avioki with the blasters also have blue particle beams.

Any footage you can give me of this blue particle beams?
in the Battle of Coriana video from youtube I only saw them firing yellow energy bolts

If I recall... the Deathstar laser was operated by manually force-firing the charge-up beams, then firing the main one by releasing hold.

Otherwise, that fleet of B5 ships is shaping up pretty damn well. Kudos.

Then, I doubt it will be useful for us. If it won't work automatically... AI controlled ships won't be so interesting since they wouldn't fire propperly.

So... unless Natch tells me otherwise, I have built the main gun into the victory AND THE BRAND NEW VORLON DREADNOUGHT without the powering up effect.

So as I said, here is the new vorlon dreadnought

Image

And as usual, I bring you another ship. Why would I bring you a single ship this time?

Enjoy the new TypeB shadow battlecrab, 1.5 times bigger than the type C, and stronger!!

this time you don't have the download because the database doesn't seem to work.

With the new mission maker coming, would any of you get into creating a campaign or mission in the Babylon5 universe using these ships?

And do you have any comments on any other ships I should make?

Nice Nice. I have a Picture from a Vorlon vessel:

Image

Maybe you can make the Vorlon Vessel. The Vessel is a half from the Vorlon Dreadnought

sorry, but it isn't. this picture is taken from a lighting class vorlon fighter, and measures about 25 meters, while the dreadnough is nearly 1300 meters long.

I have represented this kind of ships as demeter drones.

Maybe you are referring to the vorlon transport. http://www.b5tech.com/vorlon/vorlonship ... sport.html

which is 130 meters long, meaning it is a third of the whitestar, and the whitestar is already pretty small.

On another side, I have done 2 more ships. Maybe I will manage to get some more running soon. Don't expect anything big, however, as most big things have already been done.

As always, if you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me. Should I give a try to making the GOD satellites? the tinashi? centauri and narn space stations from season 1? maybe even a jumpgate?

I'd say Drakh stuff. They have multiple ship designs, including a carrier that's nearly as big the Excalibur.

Sure! In fact, you should already have the encoutermaker if you have downloaded the latest version of the game. It also makes all ships shoot in the colours they should -no more red bolts!- so download it as soon as possible!

the only thing you get to do with the missionmaker is you can build encounters as you would set a sandbox battle, and send to other people for them to play the battle.
ArcaneDude wrote:I'd say Drakh stuff. They have multiple ship designs, including a carrier that's nearly as big the Excalibur.
Drakh ships are interesting... but they are so massive... having a pair of them and a single victory class destroyer would mean Huge Lag. And they are so big to create that I do not think the effort would be worth it.

Not to mention their mothership measuring about... a handful times babylon5 itself, which I am not sure wouldn't fit on the shipbuilder. (checked: only half B5 would fit on it)

Ok, I have finished some more ships, Including a ship which I shouldn't have missed but I had forgotten for a long time, since it has a lot of fans. For now, I will not reveal which ship is it, since I planned to make a fast encounter featuring it, as a teaser.

As the missionmaker is about to take shape, I have also worked in some miscelaneous ships and transports. These include the Asimov Class Luxury liner, the tankers seen many times in the series... just to add a bit of atmosphere in custom scenarios, if they ever become avaliable. I have also built the Raider Battlewagon and some other small vessels.

With all the ships I have built, the current fleet features 21 ships, which means I have added about 6 more ships. But as the upload page refuses to work, no download for you.
