Yes. I usually call it "the shotgun". I don't really like it myself, but it's powerful.osilus wrote:well flak gun was a wep I think I bought, mind you this was an earlier version of the game...think it was called amourning star or something.
wofly: I found an anti-missile-and-projectile ship module, though. It was leet.
oh, btw- to kill the charon guys i'd advance several levels, grab some 1337 weapons and backtrack and simply overpower them. I havn't fought them, but i think that dual partical guns are more than sufficient. If you can, get a kiloton cannon or another uber-heavy weapon system from one of the capital ships you meet later on. Also, they send bounty hunters if you kill black market stations, though they are fairly wimpy. You can get military grade weapons + installation by stocking up on ore, selling it to ringers for rin to get a 1GW+ reactor, killing teretons for the actual weapons and credits for installation at a raisermessers plant. btw- remember to jettison military and illegal items if you dock at a commonwealth place- you can alwayse retrive them from the crate. It might sound like alot of work, but it gets you alot more net money and items than if you used a normal approach from the black marget guys. You won't even need the rins if you opt for a kiloton cannon since they only use 10MW total, so you can get by with a 100MW or even a 50MW reactor.
Bwahahaha, I just owned the hell out of the charon fortress with my mammoth shield... 25mw, i think? The 240 hp one. My armor was 4 Hardened Reactive plates with ablative coating, and I THINK I was using an omnidirectional turbolaser alternately with a +10% particle beam, and i tossed out some frag missiles every once in a while.
It was nuts. There must have been at least 50 guys waiting for me at the stargate, and more just kept coming. What I did was I dove out of the gate, blasted as many as I could before my shields got low, then ran back into the gate and recharged on the other side.
I repeated until they were all dead. Then I slowly but steadily wiped out each and every stronghold until i reached the fortress, and after that I mopped up the scattered outposts and patrols.

hmmm... if you owned them with an omni turbo, my kilo cannon & dual partical gun should elimate them easily... now just to get more kilo cannon shells... Wonderful. And of course, I don't get worldship armor until . . . the second-to-last system?Müg wrote:I just eradicated the entire system by just sitting next to each base and firing.
Worldship armor is amazing.
Any actual . . . advice for me? Right now?

Double Cho-ku-no-ku cannon (found it on an enemy) works wonders on the crowds.
Shuriken cannon (conveniently found at the enemy station below) does 1%-2% damage to the station each hit.
Lastly, you need one barricade. The barricade can be found, once again, conveniently on the station below. Place it in a nice spot a nice distance from the station. Hide far behind the barricade. Using the radar to target the station, blast away at it. If you find your shields dropping, hide back behind the barricade (if you're back, there'll be a wide arc in which you can hide) and wait to recharge.
