Cathedral class Titan

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I'm thinking about renaming the ship, what do you think?

But destroy the front prong piece and the entire front broadside weapons will blow up as well. Unless you use a skeleton, the ship should always be parented like a tree, period. :(

But I love the design to bits.

Well, tiny bit of problem with that theory. The ship has a broadside AI, thus positioning it's frontside AWAY from it's foes. Since It's so big there is little chance that you can actually damage the front prongs.

This only goes for this ship, though, and you're right. Smaller ships should be parented in a tree shape. Which is what I will be doing in future projects.

If the stats on that ship are balanced, then small hard hitters with flanking AI will run rings around a broadside AI. Most flankers on this forum WILL destroy that frontal section.

Tree parenting is especially important for broadsiders, since they stand to lose sections at the greatest rate.

Why so big?

There should be a tornament for ships of an uneeded nessary size, just to see how good these big ships really are.

You think THIS is big? Stick around for a while Happy Panda and you'll be redifining the term 'big BSF ships'.

It's so big because it's supposed to be the kick-ass flagship of the Vilushan navy, which I'll be posting next week. Might be two weeks, though. The Titan is the first Vilushan ship i made, that's why it's posted here.

BTW, on the "any other name" option in the poll it says "please post". The name, that is.

On the parenting: I've tested it against one of those fast, hard-hitters you were talking about, and yes you're right. It does blow the guns off. I'll be changing the parenting, so don't worry. Maybe add ablative armour....naaah.

They're not. Period. The description is gonna say "rarely used in battle".

EDIT: Parenting fixed for the outer hull. Inner structure will soon follow.

Sorry for the double post, but i've got something to announce.

The next week is a holiday period where i live, so i'm going on a vacation. I will still be working on the Vilushan navy, but you won't see me online for a week. I'll be available next sunday, meaning the one after this one, and then I'll probably put some stuff up for download, and post replies. Anyways, 'till next week! :P Just so you know i haven't misteriously dissapeared.
