Uh, hi! This is my ship... ((very much a)work in progress)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

This is just it's frame- i've yet to add in the interior segments and the weapons...

It's pictured here in a sandbox 20480x20480 (yes, not a 2048x2048, this map is 100x bigger than default)

2x longer than the ship builder's build area (so far, i figured out how to virtually indefinitly extend the ship till you run out of RAM), it's also currently ~1.4x as wide.

I've got my work cut out for me to finish this one...

Kinda experimenting around with color gradients, which is why there are shades of grey, red and green there :D

no doubt- it took several hours to simply pick a design! then several more to make the frame, and half an hour to begin filling in the core section. If i'm lucky i might finish in a month :D

Jesus, man! That's a hell of a big ship! can't wait to see it finished, though that may take quite some time.

I have concerns as to if the parenting will work properly once the interior is filled in.

well, that answered my question in your thread

----------------------

I'm not too worried about parenting- I'm redoing it as I go along since SB3 allows the parenting to be easily changed. This is merely the frame. The frame peices will connect to the pieces directly inwards of them which connect down like that till it reaches the heavily armoured skeleton which is where all the stuff will be connected to. The skelton in turn will lead to the spine which is even more heavily armoured and runs horizantily along with the core dead center.

I just want to say that it's cool, but it sort of looks to me like it's made almost entirely of railguns. Anyway, good luck with the parenting, it ooks like it's going to be really annoying to do.

railguns!?!?

There arn't even any weapons on there! just a few aegis deflecters in the very center. must be the poor resolution...

It just looks like that to me, also the idea of a ship made of weapons is mine, I've patented and copyrighted it so there.:P If anyone wants to steal it, they can go right ahead, I won't mind.

hmm, yeah, zoomed so far out it does look a little like it was made of railguns...

but no, the outer shell is mostly module #25 slightly increased in size (about 1.2-1.4x in size)

From what I can see, it will fall apart if you punch it in the nose.
