This is the Scalpel Mk 2. I defeated someone's Prometheus ship with it. It's in the database, so have fun :twisted:

Et voila, the Mobile Fortress (mark 2).

The MFMk2 is essentially a military retrofit of the Civilian Heavy Cargo Liner. This behemoth is faster, tougher and much better equipped than it's original variant, hauling massive mobile factories within it's cargo bays, giving it much more fire power than it would first appear to have.

The main weapon, however, is the Heavy Laser. Replacing the old civilian twin railgun, this Heavy Laser has 360 coverage and pumps out an extreme degree of hurt to anything that comes too close. Far more powerful than your classic Beamer, faster reloading and with much more range, the Heavy Laser reaches out and messes up your enemy!

Whilst the MFMk2 is a veritable force on it's own, it is frequently escorted by Hestias, acting as a forward repair and resupply base. Ships often retreat to close proximity of the MFMk2 to take advantage of it's kitbashed Impeders, which make it's Flak Cannons all the more deadly, and make it deadly against Carriers, whilst it's deflector shields give it protection against direct assault.

Get it here!

Another one already;

The Titan Shipyards Executor-class Dreadnaught is now available here.

This beast of a warship was specifically designed to fight fgalkin's Manticore-class Battleship, and thus is NOT balanced in a fight against normal ships.

The Executor poses for the camera;

Image

Designed as a prototype challenger to the T.F.N Manticore, the Titan Shipyards Executor-class Dreadnaught is a veritable fortress and extremely well armed and armoured, as well as having extensive shield batteries to back it's offense up. It's firepower in the rear arcs is considerably more lacking than the Manticore's, but will nevertheless give flankers something to think about.

It also sports a number of special weapons and systems, and the Executor is designed with more tactically minded captains in mind. Alone or escorted, the Executor is a force to be reckoned with.

HP: 1750
Speed: 1
Turning: 0.40
AI Range: 750
Acceleration: 0.01

WEAPONS:
Rear;
1x Mining Beam
2x Mega Beam
4x Repeater
4x Flak Cannon
2x Point Beam
8x Demeter Launcher

Flanks;
6x Point Beam
2x Gatling Blaster
2x Beamer

Center-Forward;
8x Gatling Blaster
6x Beamer
4x Quad Blaster
2x Sidewinder
2x "Frosch" EMP Gun

Forward;
4x Railgun
8x Tachyon Cannon
6x Scatter Laser
4x Point Beam
2x Lancet Beam
2x Flak Cannon

MODULES:
8x Booster
6x Impeder
6x Nanomatrix
33x Deflector Shield Generators
1x Flux Shield Projector

--

Engine design inspired by RRoan's incomplete battleship, so credits go to her for the original design concept for the engines. Frame designed and built by myself. Name inspired by Star Wars.

--

EDIT:

For kicks, I tweaked the Executor's palette use and my own colour schemes to get this Vaygr-inspired pattern;

Image

Will post this version along with colour settings for your bfconfig.ini file later, once I've reworked the colours a bit so there's less red in the middle.

Corrected. Also, that's a cool ship. For some reason I really, really like its design.

Oops, my bad. I'll remember that in future. ;)

The design was originally based around the Pirate core, but I later swapped it out for the Alien core. The overlapping segments that make up most of the nose came first, before I expanded outwards and backwards with the same piece, intent on making it an effective killer whilst looking good at the same time. Didn't want to overload the chassis with weaponry, but on the other hand it needed to have enough firepower to face it's intended adversary.

The design makes a lot of use of alternate colours for it's pieces, so I suggest setting the A colour to something bright, the B colour to something dark, and the C colour to something lighter.

Completely reworked internals and weapon loadout to address linking issues (a design flaw that if you knocked out a key component HALF THE INTERNALS ON THE ENTIRE SIDE OF THE SHIP would instantly explode and blow out into space). Oh, and it's even bigger than fgalkin's Glory! New naming convention due to the fact this is a very nearly completely redesigned ship. Bumped up the HP a bit to reflect the toughened hull and bumped up turning rate a bit due to bigger engines aboard.

SB2 sauce for all my designs here.

EDIT: Hmm, thought I posted my Waverider I here. Oh well, without further ado...

Image

Notice the severe linkage issues! LOL :lol:

"There's no such thing as overkill, only 'OPEN FIRE!' and 'I NEED TO RELOAD!'"?

:P

Nice design, but it's terribly vulnerable to Lancet Beams and I believe some of the underlying structure is mislinked, or linked in an unusual manner.

I also suggest using Particle Guns instead of Flaks, because that many Flak Guns generates an impassable wall of flak fire that blasters can't pass, making only the recently nerfed Beamers and Railguns effective against it, whereas Particle Guns, whilst a lot more accurate, can at least be overwhelmed.

Or you could at least tone the number of flaks down. ;)

Is there a way to have each ray's main spar linked directly off the core? In other words, can the Core support multiple pieces linking off it?

Yep, just reselect (double click) on the core and place each part as you would normally.

EDIT: I showed a friend of mine the Executor. They stated it needed more guns. I agreed, but decided to go a few steps further.

This beast hasn't been named yet (the stats are the Executor's defaults) but I'll think of something. The name is also incorrect (the Mark II is a slight rework of the Exec, nothing quite this big) for now. ;)

Et voila.

Image

Futzed the colour on the outer engines but that can be fixed later.

Sovereign-class Super Dreadnaught

Designed to effectively one-up the Executor-class Dreadnaught, the Sovereign-class Super Dreadnaught is a truly terrifying sight to behold. It may cruise into battle slower than an ancient Terran sail ship, but it's not something you want to get caught in front of.

Weapons
Left Wing
7x Tachyon Driver
4x Quad Blaster
1x Heavy Tachyon Repeating Cannon
1x Gatling Blaster
3x Flak Cannon
8x Point Beam
5x Beamer
10x Demeter Launcher
5x Gatling Pulse Gun

Center
2x Tachyon Cannon
6x Railgun
2x Tachyon Driver
2x Frosch Gun

Right Wing
7x Tachyon Driver
4x Quad Blaster
1x Heavy Tachyon Repeating Cannon
1x Gatling Blaster
3x Flak Cannon
8x Point Beam
5x Beamer
10x Demeter Launcher
5x Gatling Pulse Gun

Nose
6x Tachyon Cannon
8x Mega Beam
4x Lancet Beam
4x Flak Cannon
4x Point Beam
4x Mining Beam
2x Scatter Beam
2x Pulsar Gun

Modules
20x Booster
60x Deflector
6x Impeder
6x Nanomatrix
1x Heavy Flux Shield Projector*

*The only modified object on the ship, the HFSP works like the standard Flux Projector. On the one hand the HFSP discharges faster than the standard Flux Projector, but on the other hand it recharges considerably faster, allowing it to be used more often.

How do you get multiple colors in a ship like that? Do you change color under one scheme then change the Core Color?

Go into shipmaker... Place a part... Right click it... "Change color".

That should do it.
