SSF:Smooth Sailing Fleet - Every ship tested against Grinder

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I hope to see Grinder Tested Fleets from other people to play with soon. Playing with myself just isn't nearly as fun.

As for myself, I am working on a fleet that is less powerful than individual SSF ships, but able to take them down in groups of two, while utilizing different technologies.

SSF ships are heavy on:
  1. Weapons: Railguns, Blasters, Scatterbeams
  2. Defensive Modules: Point Defense, Flak Cannons, Particle Guns & Deflectors (Aegis Deflectors are only on the nose cones of the SSF Ships of the Line, battleships, & cruisers)
Enemy Fleet:
In order to make a fleet that counters them yet lacks those technologies, I will likely end up with ships that are:
  1. Vulnerable to meteorites
  2. Feature Nano Matrices, unlike any SSF vessel other than their Space Stations
  3. Have more beam weapons, repeaters, plasma, anything the SSF Fleet doesn't use much
  4. No deflectors
I would like to use no Aegis Deflectors as well, and make these SSF-busting ships layered with armor, and flankable.

That should do the trick - AI versus AI these new ships will win two on two on an SSF warship, because most of the SSF warships focus their defense and firepower to the front of the vessel (Battleships excluded). Yet, because they are flankable and vulnerable to asteroids, these new enemies should be fun to take down as a human controlled warship.

All I need is time, and I'm moving soon, so I'll do what I can.
