It blew through 3 layers of deflected 20,000 HP sections on one of my ships, so yes, I think it can do a little more than poke through shields.

Odd... the Type 5's outside sections are 10k HP and shielded, and it just bounced off of them.

I'll run more tests later this week. In the meantime, leave it in cold storage, or bring lots of ships.

It would depend on the number of beams striking the shielded section at one moment. If they all hit the same one and overpower it - or if they're all hitting seperate ones that their firepower can't break.

I have no idea what was going on when I tested the two Type 5's against each other, because when I tried again tonight Purgation was indeed doing retarded damage.

I've tweaked it quite a bit. It now does about 22k damage/s at the high end, but it will only be to one section if the spread happens to be all converging on the same section at once. The rate of fire has also been adjusted so that it's only firing a full spread for a short time, and the deviation has been increased so it's a wider damage profile.

The Heavy Beamlances have had their damage halved, but I think it still might be going a little overboard.

Keep in mind it's supposed to be a pretty nasty ship, just not unkillable or capable of one-shotting another heavy wanker.

I've been there once. I think it's supposed to be something where people can put up pictures or something, but it was too messy for me to bother.
