Everyone would have to draw up treaties limiting size, power, numbers, and types of weapons per unit of hull size (call it one section each) and you can see it'll quickly become a huge mess. All it takes to render such a treaty moot is one rogue-state player not abiding or signing onto the treaty.

It was just a fun idea to make such ship... I like making things with some themeUlric Jorgensson wrote:An interesting design, not sure I've ever seen something like that before. Not really sure what to say, since everyone here has pretty much said what I was going to.
Keep trying.

Thinking of making little bit different station now.
And I think that this ship will be left as my biggest for a while. At least until some stats exporter will be available. I will attend to my own experiments and games making until BF will have something like that.

Well yeah it is an arms race in some way and I don’t forbid it or something. I just can’t and I don’t even want. It just funny that you consider your ships being strongestAnna wrote:Because we don't have to, and we don't want to. I try to keep my ships beautiful when I build them, and I think I have achieved that with my Midgardian ones, the only reason I increased HP and weapons stats to make it so they could compete with other peoples ships.wonderwhy-er wrote:It was just a fun idea to make such ship... Keep trying.Like building themed decks in MTG. Was thinking to make a station called ‘Hell gate’ in a form of circle around a star shaped structure inside. Some Satanist pentacle like station
But failed cuz of some problems… I really lack the possibility to put a scetch behind the ship maker. I think we need to request that feature. And second problem was that amount of angles we can rotate sections is limited. Not shore but it seems that only degrees like 0,5,10…360 are allowed. Well anyways I made a star and circle but it didn’t looked like needed… May be someone else will be able to use that idea who knows.

Of course they are strong. They are tuned up to 2-10K of hp and tuned in other things too. So no wonder they are strong. Thing is that their strength is not completely based on their design or weapon choice. It’s based on enormous tune up of hp and weapon characteristics(partly, there are some good ideas there). And that’s what I don’t like. That you pretend that your ships are strongest even tough this toughness is partly earned by few key pushes in the ship maker with no much tough, innovation, creativity… Tough I am speaking about strength. There is a lot of creativity and innovation in beauty of such ships like Angel.

Well yeah was thinking in participating in this myself until stumbled on this feature of cold war... I think my posts at the beginning were partly driven by my disappointment in this... Mostly cuz even large arrays of standard weapons take like 2 minutes to destroy such unshielded section(one of hundreds there)…Mjolnir wrote: I try to keep my ships beautiful when I build them, and I think I have achieved that with my Midgardian ones, the only reason I increased HP and weapons stats to make it so they could compete with other peoples ships.
As I said above I think I will wait for proper statistics exporter, then I will try to make calculator for tournaments. And then will be making ships under those rules. At least I find it to be right way for cold war. Cuz cold war is based on lack of resources which leads to innovative solutions in design and other aspects. Until then it’s too hard and time consuming to calculate prices for ships…

Not all ships are built for looks only with no functionality. My ships are designed with function in mind, as are Lizzie's ships. If you actually download them and use them, you might find out how they are.
