Exorcist v1.1 Class: Super Dreadnought

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Which fortifies even more the argument that HP doesn't matter, it's the overall construction.

Heh well that sounds balanced for super dreadnoughts. It jsut that max hp of original battleships is 400-500 so somwhere near 1500-2000 should be balanced.
By YOUR definition. Some of us don't have the same standards. Or would like to see our Dreadnoughts actually have a chance to survive an engagement with at least half of the stuff people make.

Are you trying to force your standards on other people? Because frankly it seems like you are. I wouldn't care so much, but you turning your nose up at my low tech fleet, because the 4000 HP on the dreadnought apparently offended you, REALLY pissed me off.

Lol, a flying cross.... To be honest, I don't think it looks like something that could fly or float. And im not that big of a fan of the design either.

Also Lizzie is correct here. Compete with the Cold War and then start talking. I mean you don't even know what we have to compete with. Also IMO Lizzie is a more experienced member...

sorry for agreeing you... I just made my mind that it would be better to stick to original game balance. And 2000HP for a ship that is in same class as Chronus which has 400 is too much... My opinion is mostly based on fun which i get from the game. And after trying your ships against your ships i found out that it takes far toooo long and just becomes booring... And that's just my opinion. You are just in other league in which i will never play. It takes too long and becomes irritating how they use a lot of fire and no actual damage. As if those are not weapons but fireworks...

The way I play is I LOVE long drawn out fights. Mostly 1 on 1 duels between Dreadnoughts in fact. So I design accordingly. Each of my dreadnoughts are designed to kill something of the same size and caliber or lower. Or at least survive till I can get the rest of my fleet in position.

Also I use highly modded guns, and everyone else I fight against does as well. When you meet Mjolnir's fleet of ships and their "UBEROMFGINSTADEATH" Railguns then you will know why I load my ships with so much HP. Because on THAT field the HP is what keeps my ships from dieing a instant death.
In fact I'll admit to the fact, that his Mjolnir II's railguns nearly cored my Flagship.

Re-read what I wrote: Battles between my ships and other people don't last long:

The battles between Coldwar tech level ships barely last 10 minutes. Mainly because of all the high powered weaponry used.

I'm not trying to be harsh now, just trying to show a point.

Well I don't know i turned off after 20 minutes when enemy Ragnarock was fighting Ally Ragnarock... May be some highly offensive ships will make it faster don't know...

Btw at the beginning I tough that there is no limit but I forgot that computer numbers have limit. So th15 uses standard 32 bit integer for HP. That limits maximal hp to value of 2147483647. Now I am interested how long height tech uberships will take to reach that limit :D Same goes for moded weapons. Why competing, lets jump straight to the max and start to compete in actual ship armor design and tactical weapon placement there where you can’t set more hp or damage cuz they are at limit :D

Once again, I find myself agreeing with you, Cerebrus. That idea is fundamentally retarded on oh-so-many levels, wonderwhy-er.

Thats because AI are DUMB and don't know how to poke around for unshielded areas of a ship that deflectors are not protecting, they just point, shoot, and float.

Human Versus AI or (at some point in the future when we get mulitplayer) Human versus Human, generally you can poke around and find a hole on the other ships armor and open up, sometimes totally smashing them with one shot.

I agree as well. And I also sensed a bit of smartassery in that post, which is not appreciated.
