Hmm.. well, sorry to say this, but at the moment it doesn't look substantial enough. Right now, the individual bits of it (eg super structure, weapons housings, etc) are fairly indistinct. I recommend you make the parts.. stand out more somehow, by using shapes and/or color. For example, using one type of hull section arrayed in the same direction for the hull, and then on top of that a bunch of distinct varied sections for the other bits.
I can see that you tried to do that, but the base hull piece you picked is too large for the rest to stand out properly. Try smaller pieces stacked together. Also, the superstructure bits.. add more of em! The more the merrier, though don't go overboard.
And I highly recommend different color tones; dark drab tones for the repetitive sections, brighter tones for the important bits. As for the shape of it, I recommend curving the hull more to give it a hydrodynamic shape. Right now it looks more like a bullet than a destroyer. Best if you could lay your hand on ship plans for future projects.
Hope I didn't offend or intimidate you, just trying to offer my own fallible bit of advice. =) This is an interesting theme you've got here, one that I was quite fond of in my younger days. Do carry on with it!
