A cover has been added to the spine of the FS 01 Oblivion.
SMscreen01.png
The FS X Quietus will retain its conflicting styles. That was done on purpose. The "blade" of the "sword" should look alot smoother and cleaner than the "hilt" and "pommel".

I would prefer the cover to be wider, but that's fine too.
Ah, I see what you're going for now. Then it might look a better if there was a more obvious transition from one style to the next.
I think doogie's latest ship is a pretty good example of what I'm trying to say.

I can't really think of anything to put over it that wouldn't look "flat and bland" as Anna has said about alot of my ships. Currently, I am practicing my section work.
As for the Quietus, I will probably scrap this version of it, since it was created from memory and doesn't serve the original weapon very well.

The practice plan is a bit wierd.
I call a series of random numbers ranging from 1 - 512.
I then select sections from Kae_Shn and try to make a ship out of just those sections. No mirroring.
The next ship I make will have 50 sections, each randomly chosen.

No wonder, you use weird methods when building. I usually have the "z" interface open and then scroll and select a section that would look good with the existing ones, to which I mirror it and see if it looks good. I usually go through meticulous amounts of revisions and usually spend a net time of 4 hours on each ship I post (not all at once). Naturally, the more I make the faster I go.

That is the method that I normally use.
This method is to give practice with some sections that I would not normally use.

The random 50 section ship is finished. I tried to make it look decent with what the number rolls gave me, but I dislike it (alot).

You dislike that? I kind of love it. It's quite a nice asymmetrical ship.

Time for another "IT" ship. This one will have a few guns on it.
These are the sections that the random generator gave me.
Spoiler!
32, 36, 48, 50, 57, 60, 66, 97, 109, 125, 132, 171, 178, 179, 205, 206, 209, 212, 229, 231, 234, 248, 254, 259, 289, 300, 301, 322, 337, 354, 356, 367, 378, 382, 394, 397, 410, 420, 424, 429, 453, 454, 456, 472, 481, 486, 501, 507, 509, 511
That large Kae_Shn 472 square section is going to cause some problems.

This post will be edited later with the finished ship. Unless someone posts after this, it will appear in its own post instead.

You could easily use it and the large tube section to make a nifty little fighterbay.
I take it you aren't counting doodads in these?

Actually, this could make a fun little competition. Mind if I steal your idea and make a new thread for it?

There is no limit to doodads for these.

If you want to make a game out of it, go ahead. Here is the random number generator.

I have no idea what you see in these things, but here is another one.

The next IT ship has arrived. It has some blasters and a fighter bay with custom IT fighter.
The fighter consists of a small 10 section IT ship made into a sprite.

Currently working on my own "Magnum Opus" Ship: Zephyr
SMscreen09.png
Open to many suggestions, such as ship shape, armament, color, what's good/bad etc. . .

On a side note, reworking the FS X Quietus (the pommel is still incomplete. I also went overboard with the side pieces, but I liked them.)

I was going through some of my older BSF versions and I found the first ship that I ever made.

That's right, I started out just like you did. With stock ships.

I decided to refine it.

Generic but cool, I like it quite a bit. You should drink and build more often! XD jk (being drunk is not cool kids).

I need more practice, so another IT ship is being made. Randomly chosen to be 62 sections, these are what the generator gave me.
IT 03 - Junkyard Assembly Area
IT 03 - Junkyard Assembly Area
Comments and ideas are appreciated. Construction will begin in 18 from this post to give people time to suggest things. (This can include weapons and modules)

I also have random colors. Mainly pastel colors (bright, low saturation) they include blue, teal, yellow, green, and orange (all randomly calculated).
