Exorcist v1.1 Class: Super Dreadnought
Ship info:
HP:2000
Diflectorsx10
6xRailguns (Range tuned to 1300) CodeName: ‘Fingers of god’
Main Weapon:
CodeName: Crucifier
3xLarge Typhoon with Arc(8 ) Range(1500) Deviation(2)
52xBoosters
All weapons in the fron have arc of 160 degrees.
Other settings are standard. If you want to know them then refer to links section source file.


After testing following changes were made:

Railguns: it was confirmed that ordinary Railguns barley reach ships in front of the Exorcist. So scientists were ordered to make versions with reach of 1300. Six new Railguns were manufactured shortly after. Codename for new Railguns ‘Finger of god’

Weapon arcs: Engineers were ordered to change and improve weapon mounts on the front part of ship. AS a result they were rotated towards the front of ship and their arc was extended to 160 degrees.

Armor: Further testing showed that two layered armor in front of ship has defects. Some weapons can shoot trough it on the joints between armor scales. It was partly solved by adding 3 layers in front. Tough problem occurs sometimes.

Main weapon: During field tests it was noticed that inner shaft of Crucifier is damaged by the weapon. Problem was solved by tuning down weapon arcs to 8 degrees.

Deflectors: Due to lack of energy amount of deflectors was lowered from 18 to 10.

Testing and battle results:
It was tested against WCW5 and Ragnarock.
It won against WCW5 with minor armor damage and few weapons destroyed.
Fight with Ragnarock was stopped after 15 minutes. Half of front sections was lost and Ragnarock lost only 2 sections. 6000 hp is too much. Complete bombardment with main weapon does not destroy even one part of it :D

Hehe, the PopeMobile... IN SPACE!

I'd say it's a very attractive and appealing ship, due to the design and that insane triple tachyon gatling gun.

Have you got other stats for this behemoth?
Like health or the stats of the main weapon, if you did modify it.

No I haven't changed stats of typhoons expect for listed above. Only arc, range and deviation.

And no tweaks for other weapons so far. Tough I think I may change arcs and ranges later. Other then that everything is on the surface and I am a programmer myself :) What that means? That means that extreme laziness attacks me when I need to do a routine job which can be made easily by computer...

I wrote before that that would be cool if stats on ships were calculated in ship designer. Like amount of sections, list of weapons and so on. I think a lot more can be done like slowly starting making an appraising function for ships with default weapons. And may be even starting building weight coefficients for each type of weapon and type of characteristic… Until then it’s hard to compite cuz we don’t know nothing at all about other ships except for the fact that they are stronger or weaker then ours. And in case of stronger ones we start to build up defense and attack with infinity as our limit :(

I find it amusing everyone likes to use my WCW's as target practice. Perhaps I should post up the update of the series.

However. On the 6000 HP is too much comment. It was designed for the specific purpose of being a tank, and as I see, it does that job decently. Thus I will not change it nor deviate from that style.

Also keep in mind that Tachyons of any kind, non-modded, just plain suck IMHO.

Which is odd seeing as my ships are harder than most of yours for the most part, yet noone whines about mine.

And my ships have superior construction (to me, at least) but don't have as much armour. However due to superior construction my ships have generally more survivability. (example: Viscount Hood can destroy Ragnarok due to armour system)

Heh well that sounds balanced for super dreadnoughts. It jsut that max hp of original battleships is 400-500 so somwhere near 1500-2000 should be balanced. Tough it is based on many other characteristics like section count...
