Malandanti

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I tried type 4 but it took 30 minutes to destroy it.

Note to self(and by proxy everyone else); Malandanti ships are vulnerable to extremely long range bombardment.

The Type 4 is, to be sure. It's designed to ram into a target and tear it apart from the inside out. It also has extremely weak rear defenses and armament.

Types 5-8 are another story. :)

That is not a comforting sentiment in the slightest possible manner.

Well, they'll blow up nice and pretty, it'll just take some work and/or careful strategery. :)

Or brute force
Look Up
upon reading this:
50% of people will have scrolled up
25% will have looked at their ceiling
The last 25% can now feel smug because everyone else has taken orders from a little sig box.

2 minutes with one of my Cruisers and 2 Battleships. Over penetrating railguns FTW!

I see your over-penetrating railguns and raise you Purgation.

What was once fairly strong is now absurdly strong.

If I did my math right, the Purgation can put out 30,000 damage a frame.

I'm going to need to tweak it. Ideally, it should start out weak and have a period in the middle where it does horrendous damage, and then taper off again. 30k is a bit much. I might also up the deviation so it spreads out more and doesn't focus all the damage on one section.

I did my math wrong, actually, 30,000 is a high-range figure. It dishes out somewhere between 20,000 and 35,000.

The recharge time should ideally be high as well. Right now it's set to a minute, I'll probably up that.

Okay, clearly I haven't properly emphasized how overpowered this ship is.

20,000 damage, at minimum, a frame. That is 600,000 damage a second.

The thing is that it still won't poke through a shield. I put two Type 5's up against each other and I only started doing damage with some clever targeting.

It's doing a ton of damage, but it's being staggered, otherwise it would nuke shielded sections with no problem.

I was trying to work around having to use over-penetrating railguns. The Malandanti rely mainly on beam weaponry.
