No, Aegis shields can only take X beating.
X being the maximum damage value.
After that they recharge, for a set period(user defined) and then turn on again.

Whatever weapon you made, its damage was higher than the aegis shielding could take, and so, your ship said boom.

Normally, it doesn't run that slowly. Just that i set the stats crazy....
I can still do that easily with only around 1/100 the power of that beam actually.

And what is the value of "x"? I was not aware of it when i tried modding my aegis sheilds

Have you changed HP in the left menu(the one beneath doodads)
I have no idea what X is, but i'm assuming(have to check with Th15 though) that 1 energy is 1 damage.
and given that a normal unmodded aegis module has 1000 energy it should be able to take a beating of 1000 damage in one second before it collapses,
it has a regen of 3, so that would mean that in 333.33 seconds/frames, it would have regenerated and turned back on.

What i'm guessing is that either your weapons damage is higher than the aegis modules energy(so it collapses) and higher than the ships sections total hp which is why it dies, another possibility is that your parenting is just weird and with one section, the whole ship dies.

Think it's because my attack is higher than aegis can withstand.
I parent all my sections from the middle, so it couldn't have been the latter.
So if the attack is more than the health of the section, it explodes?

Yup,though in this case, its health of section+aegis energy.

This is how Aegis Shields work:

What the Aegis Shield Module basically does is automatically restore the health of the target section to it's full amount every frame. If that amount is exceeded within a single frame (this may happen either through extremely powerful weapons, or precisely simultaneous strikes from many weaker weapons) then the Aegis Shield cannot restore the health of the section in time, and thus the section will be destroyed.

The Aegis Module's Energy/Range/Regen/etc. etc. values do absolutely nothing to it. It's why you can't shut down Aegis using the EMP from Frosch weapons, for example.

No, it's not health of section + aegis energy, it's just section health. Aegis shields don't use energy at all.

Yes, exactly. More than one aegis on a section won't have any effect at all, and the only way to increase the strength is to increase the HP of the aegised section.

Now, I'm locking this thread before ADM can say anything to make himself look even more idiotic. Jesus Christ, I thought you'd played the game, ADM.
