The closest thing you can get to a land map (without modifying the game) is a really large planet. I find red or brown, size 20ish tends to work best (on a default sized sanbox). It's far from perfect, but it looks somewhat like land.jwa8402 wrote:I'm pretty sure of the answer, but is there a way to change the background ingame like I'm able to in shipmaker? Was going to load up a terrain map and have surface battles...

When you download custom sections, what should you do with them? Should you put them into groups (import them permanently) or just import them one by one whenever you need them?

Is there documentation on doing this?thanto_ wrote:One solution is to create a sprite import ini for it, then import that when you need them. It depends on how many of them you actually need, though.

I never used any documentation. It's pretty self-evident how stuff works. You have paths to each sprite in the group, and there's a counter for the number of sprites in the group. Just add as many as you like and update the count accordingly.
You know, I bet someone could make a program that could create sprite ini's from the contents of folders. If I had a working java or c environment, I could probably do it...
See, this is exactly why you should always read the documentation. If you had done that, you would have known that using group arrange + saving/loading sprite inis is far easier and more convenient that manually editing them, and that group arrange takes care of 'creating sprite inis from the contents of folders'.thanto_ wrote:I never used any documentation. I did actually check the New Features Documentation... Okay, that doesn't help me much.Kaelis wrote:Would it really hurt you to at least browse the stickies?Skull13 wrote:Is there documentation on doing this?
