Daxx MST - Fleet Beta General Discussion Thread (join now)

Figured I'd start one up for future use. Fleet Beta post here for discussion purposes.

I doubt I will contribute much to the creating of our mothership, other then opinon wise. I'll leave that up to whoever is best on our team in building hulls for monster ships. We in my opinon should leave the actual building of our mothership to whoever is most capable and vote on this once our team is complete? That is one individual will be responsible for creating our mothership, and take advice from us as to what we would like to see. Then use there own disgression to make our ideas one.

I will more then likely be making a escort ship the entire time, and doing some recon as usual. I would suggest most of our ships/mothership be kept to our team only until time for submission when all teams should at the sametime be revealed to the others in picture form as is Daxx's wishes. I also as usual have a very good idea as to our fleet placement if Daxx will allow us to choose where we shall start.

Once the team is complete I will move forward, and begin to send pms to one player on our team to relay to the others. This info will include my thoughts in general on fleet placement, and tactics. And whatever I gleam recon wise of course :twisted: I would suggest a level of secrecy for our team to follow.

Your thoughts TEAM BETA to this overall proposal as to how we should move forward with our teams plans for conquest and the destruction of the enemy

I request a slot on Beta, and am willing to design the MS. I'm good with making large weapon groups work in unison (for MASSIVE DAMGE!

So far to me Chaos would be a good choice to make our Goliath function. But once the final slot is filled we shall hold a vote, no poll but a post vote. I have to see who the final member is before I will vote, but my vote is swaying towards Chaos right now to be honest. Having worked with him already, I know his capacity is solid and dangerous.

So unless Natch or something joins team beta, I will most likely vote for chaos lol. If that happens then I'm not so sure to be honest lol.

One stipulation though for the vote, you may not vote for yourself.

With that I will cast my vote to Chaos to create our Flagship. Its up to everyone else who they would like to see do it. I figure this way its fair and not impartial. You may not vote for yourself. Of course all of our inputs are to be taken into account by whoever we all decide on for creating our flagship. I see this way as the best course of action. Up to you all to decide from here.

Edit: My ships done and sent to the team as a whole. Feel free to play with it and test it with your own.

Should we all toss together a mothership and see which is best, or decide on a strategy first? There are a few things we might want to consider:

1) Set Form Rank. We might be able to get an actual formation together, if we want one.

2) PD costs a bit more. Might make projectile weapons more viable.

3) AEGIS SECTION COVERAGE IS NOT LIMITED. Abuse it!

Well, I accept the vote to build the MS . . . because I HAZ DANGERUS IDEAZ. Like, ideas to own entire ships every 2-3 seconds, because 800 is a lot of points I'm not limited to being "fair" by any means, like when EndlessInfinity was building his.

If I'm building the MS, I'll also build a small, agile, almost invincible flanker ship to directly complement the MS when fighting the opposite MS.

It's fun time. See you guys tomorrow.

Well so far we have two people interested in the making of our Flagship. Unless someone speaks up soon, the vote seems to be between Comus and Chaos. My vote is already to Chaos for the actual making of our MS. Of course if any of the other teamates would like to build a flagship then do so. Or please choose who will be responsible. If both Comus and Chaos feel that they can make a better flagship. Then you both make one, and the team will decide. Vote or choose between the two. It matters little the same results will be forthcoming. Anyone else have interest in making our flagship speak up now or forever hold your peace? When we decide upon a strategy, or someone to build our flagship. Then things can move forward. I have sent my ship to our team as a whole. It fits in with just about any plans we can come up with. So the rest is up to the rest our of team. Let the startegies and planning begin.

P.S. if the vote is a tie, or Comus and Chaos can agree with this, I would suggest that you two work together. Perhaps one person makers the hull, and the other makes the loadout after seeing our suggestions. Or you two could pm each other back and forth to see who is more capable, and decide between you two who will go ahead with the work we require. Again if anyone else is interested speak up now to the regards of making our mothership. If not then its up to the team to decide between Chaos and Comus. Many options lie before us, feel free to suggest your own ideas here people. The only other idea I can come up with, is to make a semi final version of your motherships, then send them to our teamates to see whos mothership wins. Then we choose that person to finalize our ideas. A mothership vs mothership test to see whos is more effective.

I vote for Chaos too because Comus' ship is fucked up. It's fine until the aegis deflectors are broken through, then the pieces bounce around and kill each other and then the whole ship. Due to this, all you need to do to destroy it is break through one aegis section then kill the section behind it to kill the ship (if you can kill a section 16 while there's still section parented to it, that will kill the ship).

K two votes for Chaos. But remeber all of our inputs must be used to some extent on the making of our mothership. Just because you are to make it, does not mean you will have free reign to do whatever you please. You must take into account the entire teams ideas, and imply them to our mothership. So really voting would be the best way to accomplish this. If any in our team feels they can do a better job then Chaos, then speak up and cast your votes. If not then Chaos thus far is to build it. We'll give this subject a week at most to be decided. In that time we can begin to speak of what we would like to see. I will send my thoughts to Chaos and Comus I suppose on my ideas and suggestions. Proabaly by tonight or tomorrow. So you'll have my input soon enough.

But still its early on, we have some time. I would like someone once our rough draft mothership is completed and our escorts to make a package of these and disperse them to our temates in its entirety. If someone could volunteer to accept our escort ships from this point on, then once everyone has theres submitted to that person. That person will make a zip or rar package to give to the teamates for testing and input purposes.

That was we can make things simple and keep organized. Plus we will be able to see whos slacking on what, and who needs a nudge to get motivated with there designs. I'll write up my thoughts on tactics tonight or tomorrow and send them to Chaos and Comus. Other then that you all have my escort already. Unless rule changes happen, I may make a differnt one using aegis because it seems that there very exploitable other then the fact that aegis sections must remain and 50 hp.

Alright sounds fair. I have one question, what type of escort ship do you guys want me to build, a fast flanker thing, a weak weapon spam thing, etc. I'll build anything (as long as I think I can manage it).

I haven't seen any of them yet, but I'll be sending a suggestion to whoever is doing it. Trust me, it's going to rape.

If I wasn't so bad at creating ships with huge numbers of sections, I'd build it myself.

Dammit, I can't finalize my design until Daxx answers our questions. The design will be radically differnet based on whether he changes the rules.

But two questions to pose to the team:

1) Do you want Aegis or deflectors?
2) Are we going beams or projectiles?

I've got a basic weapon layout that will cause major damage, but I need the rules finalized before I place it on the ship.

BTW, this is fun.

I've covered the ship with weapons and still don't think I've used all the points. I may have to add more sections/space on the ship.
