1000 Members on the BSF Forums

Post by Master Chief »

If anyone has noticed, there are currently more than 1000 members registered on the BSF forums. It is a definite and great milestone for this freeware space 2D RTS game created by a god within men which is STILL WITHIN BETA. Such an achievement for a small game that can seem incomparable to other bigger ones is thus very momentous for Sean "th15" Chan and the rest of his huge gang of BSF fans.

Thus, I would like to ask this question, "Does anyone actually feel that the forums (and from it, the game) have benefited from the influx on people on it?" Feel free to vote in the poll and reply to this thread.

I believe that yes, on the larger part, it has. We may have had a few bumps in the road, but nothing too much to cause much of a problem.

Well it probably won't actually be as many as that once you eliminate all those people who joined and never posted, as it is with most forums.

Still, I hardly consider more BSF fans to be a bad thing... :)

Hmm...I do know that quite a number of people who joined the forums and have not posted at all do exist...but still the forums do have a big amount of active posters who do contribute.

Approximately 521 have never posted. 300-400 spambots?

TH should adopt the policy of deleting any accounts that are created but then not posted with after a certain amount of time...

Seconded and agreed. You're right, Trek.

Maybe a time limit of two weeks?

Some I could have done without. But we never would be having such a great team tourney if not for the influx =D.

I voted no. The community has not benefited from 1000 members because it doesn't have 1000 members. As already stated, a cast number of them are spambots, and then there are a decent chunk that drift in, post a couple times, and leave.
seriously Anna. seriously oh my gawd seriously.

See, you'd think more members would be better. Then you realize it was Master Chief who posted the poll, and your brain proceeds to fold itself into a klein bottle.

Members submit nice ships to look at, members come up with ideas and sean expands the game, members come up with ideas to further ship building in general giving the game more appeal, members run events that are extemely fun, the more the better. And yes they have made a differnce, we wouldn't have the ship maker nor the up and coming encounter maker if not for new members or members in general. They report bugs and all sorts of problems, helping sean in general. The positives far outweigh the negatives, so my vote is yes. You can never have enough die hard fans, or people checking out your work.

Nice cheap shot, couldn't have done it better myself. Well I could have, but I'll leave it up to the experts.

That's so mean, yet oddly resonating.

Already said before, we still only have 30 or so active members, so it doesn't really matter.

Actually just delete accounts that never visit in a month. Not accounts that never posted.
