Thanks for all your hard work, just got the highscore for raid :!: :!: :!:
Could've got higher but I have to head to work and just let my ships die off  Haven't tried .83 yet, sounds like you did some massive fixes....again thanks for all the hard work. I'm not really about looks all that much, I'm more about the gameplay. So I'll be happy no matter the shading and colors.

Okay I think I wasn't being very clear. When I said I'd try to allow you to change the gradient colours, I meant that you could set it to white/white and it would be as though there is no gradient.

As for toggling, the options available are there for performance reasons, and they are relatively easy to toggle on and off. Putting in alternate drawing code for the sections is something else. In any case I wasn't referring to that anyway.

I was talking about toggling old/new sections. Quite simply, there is no such thing as old or new sections, these are the sections. I'd like to add more variety to the list of sections too but they take up a fair amount of memory because of the glow effect animation. I may add more sections in the future but for now there are no plans for that.

Also, giving the ships a darker, grittier look was intentional. It's time for the ships to start looking military rather than looking like pac man.

Response in order:
1: Ok that does make sense now that you explained it, sounds like the way the photoshop gradiant system works.

So it should lead to the option of tweaking the gradiant to a level you like or not having it at all yes?

2: Ok well I thought it was the same thing. But I know jacksquat about coding anything let alone games.

3: Well theres a difference between Dark&gritty, and burnt toast.

Some of the new section sprites I like, but others just look too cluttered, Like the wedge section.

I guess I'm in the minority. I actually like the new details, darker colors, and the gradients.

A shame. My biggest request for this game would be to make it look more like Warning Forever, not less. But hey, it's your game, and the new gradients do look pretty good. Keep up the good work.

Now that toggling has been brought up, I'd like the option to disable some sections appearing in the menu (maybe just the "custom" ones?) - it takes too long to scroll around to the section I want.

I second that emotion

Cookie if you get this refrence
Look Up
upon reading this:
50% of people will have scrolled up
25% will have looked at their ceiling
The last 25% can now feel smug because everyone else has taken orders from a little sig box.

I think this game looks way better then warning, ship wise and atmosphere. I mean warning to me looks like a nintendo game lol. Why go backwards looks wise, when you can go forwards.

Well, I'm a pretty strange guy when it comes to graphics. I like the 'old school' look. Don't get me wrong, modern games can look pretty damn great, but the 'retro' look can be just as good.

But th15 doesn't want BSF to be like warning, otherwise it'd be called warning 2. It's meant to be the best freeware space simulator this side of HW1.

So old-school looks wouldn't suit it much.

Clearly I am demanding that the game be bent to my whimsy. Naughty, naught me.

Seriously, I understand that BF isn't WF. It does appear to have some strong inspiration from it, though, and as I quite love WF, makes me desire a game that's a little closer to WF in style, while still having many of the oh so cool features of BF. That said, this is not my game, and it's a pretty darn good one even if it doesn't perfectly match my desires in every way.

Since when did voicing an opinion become a demand for change?

About the new graphical turn this game has made, I must say only one word:

"EEEEEURRRGGGGGGGGGGGH"

That is all.
