Actual Information:
Name: Leah (lay-uh) Elana Fareen
Age: 27 Terran Years
Gender: Female
Species: Human father, Shoa mother
Birthplace: Crion
Universal ID: HUM-1RF3-S6-9347O
Species skills: very minor Shapeshifting (currently limited to color change), unnatural attunement with biotechnologies
Occupational skills: Scientist, Field Specialist, Healer
Species Stuff:
The Shoa are a humanoid race (considered a sub-species by a few human scientists), branched off of humans ages ago. Human in appearance, their most notable feature, and almost only difference with humans, is their inane attunement with nature. Naturally gifted and toned with generations of practice, the Shoa have become known as the “Keepers of Life”, able to control the processes of their body like no other species. This contributes to their amazing health. Aloof from culture but with a willingness to help others, they search to expand their knowledge. In today’s society, they have been known to be anything from recluses to far-advanced healers to breaking-news bioengineers. All Shoa, including half-breed offspring, have this spark within them, but unless they know their heritage and have been trained in advancing this attunement, their powers are limited. Some of the extremely powerful have been known to live for a few hundreds of years.
A byproduct of being attune with nature is the ability to shapeshift, or morph. Fully honed Shoa can go as far as to impersonate members of other species, although they must be humanoid and the morphing process takes time and concentration. Those who have little to no training cannot control this morphing: strong emotions such as love and hate however, can change the colors of eyes, tones of hair, and hues of skin.
Appearance:
1.65 meters (5’4.5”), 60 kilograms (132 pounds). Leah has a slim athletic build and is naturally curvy, which she normally downplays. However scruffy she may get in the field, her vibrant readiness to learn and take on the next challenge never dims away from her eyes. Very healthy.
Personal Stuff (all unknown to Leah, duh):
Leah herself was born on the world of Crion, from a human father, Valyn, and a Shoa mother, Elana. Leah’s mother was one of the first sick with the extremely deadly virus of Centurai-Red that wrecked havoc on Crion, and she was given four days to live. Valyn was one of the extremely few immune to the virus. Already in the eight month of pregnancy, Elana fought against the disease with all her might. For thirteen days and nights she kept the virus from passing on to Leah. The day finally came, and it was Elana’s final effort that prevented the infection from passing on to Leah: a prodigious event in and of itself. Leah was left with a heightened immunity to disease, but in the effort put forth in combating the virus, Elana died in childbirth. Valyn named his daughter Leah Elana: a combination of her mother’s wishes and her mother’s name.
It is important to note that neither Leah nor Valyn knew of Elana’s lineage. Elana kept this a secret to prevent agents from tracking her and her family to an organization that stole and produced cures for the secret bioweapons of several military organizations. As such, Leah’s morphing abilities are limited to emotion-induced color changing. Also, since Elana is officially in the records as a human, so is Leah.
Other than that, Leah grew up on the world Exos with her father (as the population on Crion was near destroyed by Centurai-Red, the cure only found weeks after the crisis). Always extremely interested in biotechnology, Leah invested herself deeply in her studies, starting off as an assistant healer. As her skill in her profession grew, so did her interest in biology. She moved to Thalias, a “librarian’s” world with her father to continue her research. Finally, at the age of 24, she submitted to her father’s wishes of going off to see the rest of the universe. She joined a team of scientists that traveled to many worlds, including icy giants and volcanic dwarfs, jungle moons and desert-and-oceanic wonders. [possiblestorycataclyst?]Then Thalias, normally very peaceful, was drawn into a tri-planet war, started by Rydoni and Horason. News reports from these planets were scarce due to communication blackouts, and Leah rushed home to find her father and provide safety. Upon entrance to the system, her ship was attacked by a Rydoni patrol, her and the crew just barely managing to escape. The crew made their way to some survivors on the stranded resistance outpost Krati-Four, where Leah learned that Thalias was now a smoldering, war-ravaged planet, with fighting still going on the surface. Unable to make her way out of the system and still persistent on finding her father, there wasn’t much she could do. After two weeks on minimal supplies, the outpost was found by the National Terran Alliance (or whatever else name you want), she joined the military in their goal to stop the spread of the fighting (two more planets had joined the brawl since it started) and make peace. Here, she served as a field specialist on an insurgent team that was the first ones to go into unknown planetary terrain, spying on enemy compounds and providing DATA for landing operations. She went MIA on one of her missions, and ended up here.[/possiblestorycatalyst]
Unique information in short:
Scientist and Healer
Well traveled
Field Specialist trained
Naturally attune with nature
Very minor morphing abilities (more like characteristics)
Heightened immunity to disease

If I do make it into PHEONIX, just know that I can’t leave a story unfinished. Anything past the [possiblestorycataclyst?] mark is just me being bored. In fact, anything can be changed if you want. =].
