Re: The Spore Game -- species A
You are about to tell the party to not fire at it unless provoked, when one of the Kamira tells the group to form a semi circle around it until it gives the word. One of the others disagrees, but since the first Kamira stated what you wanted to do anyways, you throw in your agreement to not attacking until the word is given.
You swim around, and sort of above the location given. The first Kamira to speak approaches the location where the heat signature is supposed to be, and yells at it, in the Gork!/Kamira language, to come out and state what it's intentions are. It can't expect the thing to understand, but you guess it may as well try. The undergrowth it's in then proceeds to rustle a bit, as if it were coming out, but you don't see anything coming out. The lead Kamira keeps talking to it, trying different phrases, trying to get a response. It finally gives up, and gives the word. The other Kamira all start firing, at something, but you notice none of the Gork! do yet. Until one of the Kamira starts shouting out locations, at which point all the Gork! fire simultaneously, and once their slime starts bouncing off whatever it is, it becomes much more apparent as to it's location. Weird that you can see right through it, or rather, not see it at all, but whatever it is, it doesn't appear to be retaliating. Just giving off this odd red light that dances across Gork! and Kamira alike, and this very irritating sound.
It then gives off a sort of blue flash, that leaves your eyes raw and screaming. You can't see, but whatever it is, it then rams right into you, and then is gone. The party proceeds to give chase, you keeping up by following their shouts of anger, but as the after image fades from your vision, you realize that it's long gone, and you won't be able to catch it, whatever it is, as you are. And you are injured. You notice the other Gork! shaking away the blindness, too, and you and a couple others have nasty black mottled marks on their sides, skin flaking away as the burns from the collision with that thing start to knit. You're going to need to rest to heal those up, but if that thing can do that much damage, while fleeing, you really don't want to find out what it's like when it's being aggressive.

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
regroup eat a plant rest and split evolve:
Regenerative 5 DNA
Photosynthesis 6 DNA
Disintegrating slime 3 DNA
Crystallize Slime 5 DNA
19 dna we have 17 but I guess we have 19 after eating a bit.
Resulting in lasting longer and being with more so we can kill better.

I don't really want crystallize slime but I guess we might as well. It may prove useful... Seconding adelbert
After that, go home and take a healthy nap.

That but not go home, lets stay out and try to find where the thing came from instead.
Re: The Spore Game -- species A
I was going to suggest continuing but take a look, 1 hp buddy, I think a nap somewhere might be worth having for the sake of being not dead. Whether we go home or not is unimportant but I strongly recommend we heal up.

I planned the nap between eating (a bit) and evolving (maybe a wasn't that clear).

You circle a round for a moment, looking for something to much, find a plant that isn't too dangerous to eat, and take a munch (+4 DNA). You then settle down on the ground for a rest, taking note that the other injured Gork! are doing the same.
When you wake up, you see that you are not where you went to sleep. You are just inside the nest, in the purple wing. One of the kamira have left an egg behind, and the other Gork! who were out in the hunting party are in here, too.
You're upset, but decide that now's the time to split. You do so, and your DNA is jumbled, so that you end up... not much different. You feel like your wounds would heal faster, and when you exit out of the nest, and into the mild light, you feel nice, and want to bask in the light. You also note that your slime trail is sort of thinner, and gets even thinner further back. You surmise that it eventually dissipates into nothing, which is useful in that you'll be harder to track. And you feel like you could spit something that would react with the slime, probably harden it up.

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
First things first lets gather a few Gork! and see what we can do with the new slime hardening.
First thing to try is extra armour plating, slimeing each other gently and hardening it in places where we don't tend to flex.
Then try making long pointy shafts of it for the Kamira to use as spears and see if one of them wants to try sections of armour.
Also try making horns out of it attached to the armour of the Gork! and Kamira.
Then with the new armour we hunt Stoners.

<Explitive>, so tired. <explitive> <explitive> exam week.
Sure, only got one class to study for, but...
Sorry, today's update will be delayed... until tomorrow, likely.
Here's hoping I can do it in the evening today, though.

No problem, just do well in your exams eh.
Re: The Spore Game -- species A
You tell the other Gork! in the room to split, now. Since none of them have split for a while, they all do, and find their DNA jumble the same way yours did. You then all start spitting, experimenting with hardening your slime into segmented shells on top of the ones you already have. You find that you need to produce a lot of slime to produce a little of the harder, crystal stuff you produce when you mix your spittle with your slime. But, working together, most of the Gork! in the room end up nicely armored with the... very bright orange crystal. Not very stealth, but definitely hard to punch through. It's strong enough that it resists a lot of the slime-jets you throw at it. When they start to break it up, you stop, having determined how strong you need to shoot to break this stuff. You then start trying to make long, extended horns with it. Piling the crystal stuff up into long horns doesn't seem to be too hard, and the crystals remain strong enough that you feel this slime-crystalizing agent could be pretty useful.
One of the Kamira, the one from the hunt that aproached that invisible being, comes in. You point it to a pile of horns that wouldn't stick to various Gork!'s heads, hoping it will try and use them as weapons. It seems occupied, though, and simply grabs the egg in the room, and leaves, muttering about the Kamiran alpha. Well. Interesting.

Yes lets, bring the other Gork! with us too, we can form the "orange!" branch.
Lets see what this Kamira is up too. And back him up.

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
I hate doing this.
Not the spore game, I don't mean I hate doing that.
I mean delaying/cancelling/posting late updates.
It feels like defeat whenever I do, a feeling that I experience much too often.
If what I'm saying isn't enough to say what I'm trying to say, today's update is delayed again.
