Re: The Spore Game -- species A
Seems like we need 11 more dna to get to the point where we no longer fear combat too much.
we want photosynthesis and regeneration people!
So in order to meet these needs lets tell the Kamira to follow us and lead it away from the slime for a bit then dig a nice cave for us and another for it. Also tell the other Gork! to follow us and make caves for themselves with their slime, so we can all rest up and heal fully.
I want us away from that slime since shits gonna be coming around to investigate.

Yes, we'll finally not have to worry about health or food so much.Silverware wrote:Seems like we need 11 more dna to get to the point where we no longer fear combat too much.

Anyway, this, head to some hilly area or something where digging a cave is doable. Munch a little on the way or after the caves have been dug if possible so we can get that 11 dna asap
And don't worry flabort, I was only joking, I rather like how the species have turned out. Explosive bruiser and sneaky poisoner, a bit archetypal but it makes for good variation (that said thank you very much for photosynthesis and regeneration, probably the most useful utility upgrades we've got so far).

Haha yeah I would say that we would have the advantage in combat now if we snuck in, however they still have the advantage at straight up combat. It will keep us a little more friendly, like Russia and America

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
Is it possible for us to have acidic slime with fibers in it so we can manipulate it and make a web or other structures with it?
Re: The Spore Game -- species A
You quickly shout out directions for the Gork! to head to the eastern side of the valley, the mountains there being closer. You attempt to tell the Kamira what to do, too, since your plans would benefit it. You all swim towards the mountains, the Kamira following and carrying that sphere it made, and that bright crystal. Some of the Gork! go a short ways ahead, using thin beams to cut down plants ahead, as you all swim at a fair, but calm pace. After all, if you panicked, and went too fast, you'd end up leaving the Kamira behind, to rely on it's own tools.
When you break out of the slime cloud, you realize that the Kamira is acting kinda funny... like it saw something dangerous you didn't. It's shouting up a storm, but not in words, just sounds. But, you all press on, since if you stop to fight, that is less time to rest. Some of the Gork! split allong the way, adding to your numbers.
Once you reach the mountain, you utter another string of commands, and the Gork! start cutting a cave into the mountainside. There is no strong current sucking the rock away, so one or two of you use low strength slime to push the rocks created away. Pretty quickly the multitude of Gork! have a tunnel long and wide enough for the Kamira and two or three Gork! to pass through comfortably, and a room just for the Kamira to rest in. While the Kamira settles in, you all quickly carve out some smaller rooms, industriously making rooms for you to all rest in.
Generations pass. The Gork! carve out their nests, leaving huge rooms and tunnels for the larger Kamira, who lay eggs faster than the Gork! can split, but which take longer to hatch, leaving the Kamira slightly slower to reproduce. Regardless, the Kamira keep a protective vigil, guarding the quickly expanding tunnels and mines of the Gork!, who have discovered rocks that can quickly heat, and even explode, rocks full of holes, and soft rocks that are very much like meat. Several Kamira have occasionally reported ridiculously high heat signatures, never more than one at once, but always gone in a moment. Sometimes a Gork! or a Kamira venture alone far from the nest. They never return. Whatever is out there, it's not friendly.
Frequently, large groups will go out to hunt midgets, sometimes encountering swarms with those controllers within. These beasts prove to be very rare, however, but when encountered the Gork! and Kamira have celebratory feasts over the good hunts.
You are now a newly spawned Gork!, of the Scar branch.
The three branches of Gork! have each created a separate nest, although they are joined by several tunnels, and often interact. The Kamira have rooms in each branch's nest, not really caring one way or another which branch's nest they reside in.

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
I assume that both species have now grown their language and can both communicate easily?
If this is the case we are adventurous, and wish to invite a few others from both species out for a scouting expedition to find the strange heat signatures.
Else lets spend some time expanding the language.

Sounds good but, can we have acidic slime with fibers in it?

Oh right also we need to split for Photosynthisis and Disintergrating slime.
Will take us back down to 0 dna, and will provide better stealth and survival abilities.

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
As a freshly spawned Gork!, you cannot yet split. You attempt it anyways, but only end up expelling a minor amount of spent nutrients.
You inquire as to whether any of the Kamira have seen the mysterious high heat signature. None have seen them recently, but perhaps if you go with the hunting groups, you'll have the opportunity to find one? You thank the helpful Kamira, and then head towards the Central Tunnel, were hunting groups gather. You pass a group of Purple Gork! swimming towards the Scar branch's council, probably to converse about how the Purple branch have been recieving less stock from the hunts of late than the Scar. The Purple Gork! are always complaining about minor injustices, though, and are only receiving less due to there being less of them. After all, if they should be complaining to any branch's council, it should be the Vanilla branch, since they have the largest population and receive more of the spoils from the hunts.
You pass by the entrance to the Deep mine, a sure sign your getting closer to the Central tunnel, since all three branches mine through there to find the Meat-stones. Those miraculous finds keep the Gork! and Kamira from having to put out seven, or eight hunting groups at a time and leave their nest less defended. But as it is, they still have two or three groups out at a time.
You finally reach the Central tunnel, swim quickly past the Glow stone the Kamira seem to always hang around, and then join up with the gathering hunting group. If you hear the conversation correctly, there's a group of stoners around.
Damn, stoners. They gave your branch their definitive scar, and are pretty nasty. They've got four of these thick pinschers virtually made of metal, and spit this nasty acid which can eat through stone like it wasn't even there. And besides that, they carve rocks into nasty tools, which can cut right through a Gork!'s shell, and push themselves through the water much faster than they can without. Good thing there's quite a few of you going out together.

Re: The Spore Game -- species A
eat a bit and weight for the hunting party to leave (with you of course)
Re: The Spore Game -- species A
One of the Kamira starts talking about various interactions between various Kamira and Gork! recently, and while the others seem reluctant to join in at first, quite quickly they all join in the chatter. You all laugh when one of the vanilla Gork! brings up when one of the Kamira thought he was no longer capable of asexual reproduction, and flirted with one of the Gork!!
You munch on one of the meat-rocks scattered around the "waiting area" left so that hunter's don't get too hungry before the hunt (+9 DNA)
Finally, a party returns. Judging by the fact that the Kamira stay behind, they must've got pretty beat up. But, since their return means it's time for your group to leave, you all swim out into the forest. You swing north, looking for the stoners rumored to be lurking near the Purple Nest outer entrance. But, before you see any, one of the Kamira shouts. The high heat signature is around, and isn't running away this time. Whatever it is, it must've been observing you for a while now.

no, observe first. Then if hostile shoot.
It may be that the ones who go missing go missing because they show themselves as a threat.
caution the others to be alert but not to fire unless provoked.

That sounds like the better option.
