Shikolos Empire

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Shikolos Empire

Post by Hades »

- Ships -

- Armaros-class Corvette -

Image
- Taranis-class Frigate -
The Taranis, much like the Beleth before it, uses a gravimetric drive to move the ship. It also has a reactor much like the one of the Eva, but scaled down. It usually is used to protect larger ships, but, on some occasions, have been used for tasks that are too expensive for larger ships, like attacking enemy supply lines or being sortied to destroy small groups of enemy strike-craft.

Image
- Ba'al-class Destroyer -
The empire saw the need for a ship that's larger than the Taranis, and has more anti capital capabilities, and a ship smaller, and more effiecient than the Rahab cruiser. This need spawned the Ba'al, a mix between anti-capital and anti-strikecraft.

Image
- Rahab-class Cruiser -
Built as an anti-capital warship, the Rahab excels at what it was made to do. It lacks any anti-strikecraft weaponry as a result of this, and if swarmed by fighters and/or bomber, it can be taken down with ease. Usually in groups of two, this ship is rarely ever seen alone.

Image
- Beleth-class Battlecruiser -
The Eva is the flagship of the Shikolos fleet. It is the symbol of pride and power within the fleet. It was built in the New Age of Shikolos engineering after the old ships of the previous era had been proven ineffective against even the smallest of enemies. The design took 4 years to complete and the prototype took 2 years to be built, fitted with weapons, and tested. It has many weapons, which makes it a ship not to be trifled with and it is used mainly in all out war, where its large expense is outweighed with the effectiveness of the ship.

- Nebiros-class Juggernaut -

- Installations -

- Supply Depot -
An installation used to hold supplies, nothing more to say.

Image
- Zenith Orbital Defense Station (ZODS) -

- Miscellaneous -

Image
- Fusionwave Mine -

Image
- Random Cruiser -
Really just something that was a test of the WF sections, and that I made out of boredom in about five minutes, but I figured that I should share it with all of you.

- Notes -
- Ships/Installations without a picture are not finished.
- The "fuel rods" that are pointing backwards on the frigate, destroyer, and cruiser are not engines.
- Fuel rods are used as beam-cannon platforms or, if on certain stations, docking ports (Supply Depot, Trade Station, etc).

Quite nice, very Shivan.
Good flow, particularly on the large ships.
My only complaints are that the Malor looks overly armed to me, and the middle wings for the Nebiros (right above the heavy laser cannon) look messy. Also, I assume you plan to hide the thrusters for the Nebiros right?

I do plan on hiding the thrusters, I'm still tweaking them so I'm waiting to do it.

Actually, the Malor is the only one I'm concerned about.

Very shivan of course, great work as usual.

A nice solid set of ships, I especially like the Corvette.

Though I'll have to agree the Malor seems cluttered. The section22s on Beast sorta throw me off too.

A very nice design and shape! Gd use of sections and cool color scheme :!:

The problem with it is the weapon spam and dun make the weapons large, the ship will just look ugly...

It's called, "hiding the thrusters so that it doesn't look like crap,".

A vote for corvette. BTW these have a very nice design to them, a sense of coherency.

Bump
- The Chemosh carrier was scrapped because it's easily the worst looking ship of the whole lot.
- The Eva dreadnought and its backstory have been added.
- The backstory for all other ships have been removed and will be redone.
- The backstory for race will be added when I have the time and motivation to do so.
EDIT: I have decided to redo most of the ships above when time allows and I have the motivation to do so.

The Eva is awesome. Easily the best of the lot. The only thing I don't like is the pointy back end, which seems inconsistent with the rest of the ship.

That said, this doesn't look like a fleet. It looks like a rough assembly of ships with vastly different design styles. The only real similarities are color and that pointy, red, arc-shaped section. If you're going to call this a fleet, you need to work on your design continuity.

Change the SM background to a pure black one and F9 in preview mode (F11) so we can see the ships without the grid and perimeter circle.

Excellent ships, the sense of coherency and overall quality of them are great.
Realism, seriously? It's a space ship game. Realism was thrown out the window a long time ago.
