Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Thanks so much Spoot! I'm working on the design right now. I finished the hull already, all that's left is weapons and other stuff.

GODSDAMMIT that would have been so useful LOL thanks for finally letting me in on that - is it in the help file (if so then I fail epically...)

I really like the outlining - who was it that first came up with the idea? Anna? gonna have to make a larger ship just to outline details inside it... though does it take a heck of a lot of patience to make something like that?

Do you balance your ships against themselves and each other? or are they just 'done', with balance being something that come later is necessary?

This is very nice...it looks slightly stubbier/stockier than some of your other ships which throws off my eyes but I think its just because its more massive than crusader and such, wider without looking longer. As always, your attention to detail for weapons placement is impressive. This is what battleships should look like

As far as I can remember, the ablative armor concept was first implemented on custom ships by Lizzie, and I do believe that Seraph was the first to use section outlining.

There's probably some little changes I'd have to make in balance but all in all, each ship causes an equal amount of damage to each other, as in the weapons on a Crusader make a hole no larger than what an Inquisitor would make if they fired on a second ship of the same class. They're also supposed to be balanced against another member's fleet. (Which is unmade and probably will never be made. )

WOAH WAIT A MINUTE! What's more massive than the Crusader??? The Crusader's the size of three Inquisitors put together! That image is shrunk so it doesn't stretch the thread.

The Inquisitor looks thoroughly awesome, it's very stubby looking, but you manage to make that look good all the same, excellent job, are you going to continue remaking the ships? If so, which one are you working on now?

I haven't decided...I'm thinking I should work on the Paladin and Templar but I also want to start working on the Strike Craft so I can work on light weapons.

I think you should get the smaller ones done first...

Redid the Shashka and Curtana. :)

Image
The Shashka was somewhat cluttered on the Third Revision, like the Crusader was, that is now fixed.

Image
The Curtana now is a true Monitor, only having a single gun for long range bombardment, just as River Gunboats had. The Interceptors are there so it's not completely helpless after firing its Equalizer Raildriver.

 owch my bad. The screenshots did throw me off and it had been awhile since I looked at the crusader...It is leaner for its size though compared to the stockiness of the inquisitor. Hotrod vs tank which I guess was my original point

News reports state that a UCM expeditionary force was once again sent into the Altair system in an attempt to reach Ross-128. As usual, the scouting team, which consisted of two Independence Destroyers, four Shashka Corvettes, and one Curtana Monitor, was heavily assaulted by what we believe were Apollyons. The UCM lost both destroyers and one corvette before the Apollyons were suddenly ambushed and forced to flee.

Visual intel only caught a single image of these ships before they were jammed, they are designs used by the UCM, but have been modifed to an extreme level, features include radar absorbing hull - along with a reinforced hull, improved engines and thrusters, Railguns with an extremely high rate of fire, point defense lasers, and a gatling-style scatter gun.

Image

"I've heard the rumors of the Black Ops using our designs and modifying them to support their cause...why they helped us, I do not know...the Black Ops have been trying to take down our organization since the end of the First Infestation...in order to overthrow the government of the United Commonwealth."
---Wing Commander Edison "Striker" Stricher, UCM pilot and ground fireteam leader of Epsilon Squadron.

Just something to mess around and have fun with.
Now to spruce things up more.

The black box retrieved from the UCS-DR-224 Hell's Wrath, an Inquisitor class Dreadnought displays a Black Ops assault on the Hell's Wrath near the outskirts of Altair. It seems that now they are taking the offensive on the Commonwealth again rather than pick off Apollyons in Ross-128.

Image

This footage shows what appears to be a heavily modified Independence class Assault Destroyer. Intel on whether or not this is the Black Ops' flagship is yet to be determined, so it is unknown of what their maximum potential is; UCM commanders are giving the word to take great caution traveling around Altair.

"What is it that do they do to our ships...? It's not possible to house that much firepower on Strike Craft like a Shashka...a Tactical Warship like the Independence, maybe...but even then the power output of those weapons is unreal. For Christ's sake, it was the Hell's Wrath, a goddamn INQUISITOR! I've looked at the simulators, an Independence couldn't take on an Inquisitor even if it got the drop on it! So how in God's name is this possible?! Their ships ABSORB the shots from the Curtana's Equalizer Raildrivers! I saw it myself...I was damn fortunate to have gotten away..."
---Group Captain Myles "Marcus" Archer, UCM Commander of the UCS-SDR-05 Agamemnon, pilot, and fireteam member of Epsilon Squadron.

"That Independence seems like a completely different ship...I wouldn't want to see what a Constitution would do...if they have anything bigger...I'm afraid we're done for..."
---General Jefferson O’Neill, former U.S. representative, Commanding General of Epsilon Squadron.

Ths is all filler while the Apollyon fleet is remade...I hope...

They hurt too...a lot...
Next ship will be the Constitution, so I can make the Black Ops flagship version too.

I got sidetracked and tried to make an actual fighter...apparently really small ships aren't my strong suit... :(

Image
Using the name (But a completely different design) from one of the fighters on my failed comic series, the Cobra Space Superiority Fighter.
Sports four Pulsar Beams, two Railguns modified for burst fire, and two swarm missile launchers.

I need to figure out how to keep them from stopping at random to fire...they do a fly-by pass, go again then stop.
