Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Ya the struts don't look quite right...Nice part for the glowy area. Its a shame cuz its a beautiful ship to model but hard to do from a top down view. For this one case I would almost say do it from the side to get the look right, unless your just going for functionality. But then I take it this isn't a true fan ship but a homage since its in with your normal fleet. Next you should get a design from Space:1999 lol

The Eagle Transport?

That would actually be rather interesting to see in the game.

Use dooLines for the antennas, it'll look much better. Set the speed to 0, start index to 0.5 and you have a solid line.

This is the Pemdas heavy cruiser I just finished. Got fed up with my old design not working and couldn't decide whether to make it a cruiser or larger carrier so I just build from scratch. Thought up the design during math class ;)
I'm really fairly happy with this design, even though its kinda ugly I feel like I avoided alot of the mistakes I normally make. I still feel like either I could correct something on this or improve on something on my next ship so please give some feedback.

mini update- fighter added

Post by Raul »

A mini update while I finish balancing the assault dreadnought... I know noone cares much for fighters but I built x-wings and tie-fighters for fun to play with the various star wars ships being built and then I wanted one for my fleet but I already have too many designs partially stolen from shows...
Anyway this is a assault fighter. Its got an auto cannon and two torpedo launchers. Their damage is scaled down, and they only have 50 hp. 20 of them took out the leviathan rather quickly though. Sorry for the crap screenshot but thats the closest zoom. I'm gonna put downloads up for these and all my other ships this weekend.

This is a tentative dreadnought design I've been fooling with occasionally. I think I overdid it in spots. Should I keep it or scrap it? Beam is tri-color, very pretty firing. I would put that screen up and downloads but my internet is so slow right now...Please comment though, I want my ships to be interesting enough for people to have something to say about them...

*edit* Few things that don't show up in screen. The two odd sections on the left(top of screen) side are meant to be parts of a landing bay, there are doodad landing lights. The impeder makers are nonfunctional, but they spin and make cool generators, and they cover the boosters. The demeters are just turret covers. All the little doodads are meant to be windows, but not sure how well I like it yet. I noticed several spots I need to fill in or fix so I will do that next.

One hell of a design you got there. Asymmetry rocks.

I agree with Spoot Knight, the ship's quite awesome, although I don't really like the front. Other than that, well designed, spiked, and doodaded. One question though, is it supposed to be a top down view, or a side view?

Oh its top down like usual. Ya I should probably go back and redo the front. I started off with an old design that I wanted to finish but no longer had the file for, then built the rest from scratch so they don't really match in style and the front is alot differant from how I would have built it with what I know now. I'll see what I can do with it. Glad you guys like it though!

This is the begining of the second generation of these ships. I will do my best to refine their design and hopefully avoid making them overpowered. I need criticism on my section use, overall design shape, use of spikes/battle blades, coloring, and weapons balancing.

I'm pleased that the coloring was done after the ship was complete but without moving even one section. This ship was laid using the Pemdas cruiser but is really designed as more of a monitor class. It currently has no shields.
*edit* downloads are up for all the ships on the front page, excluding this one, which is here:lol:

tried to add a sun reactor but if I make it a doodad so it will be animated, I can't seem to shrink it

There's one problem with the narcon: there's a part of it sitting (when its facing to the right) out in the middle of nowhere to the northeast of it. I get the feeling that wasn't supposed to be there.

If it was... it's kinda weird.

thanks for the critique but thats a old ship. I did notice the piece and corrected it but I havent been around to fix the upload. Kinda disapointed i didnt get any comments on the new ship, i hope it wasnt that bad.

Anyway heres one I've been working on slowly for a while. Theres actually more to it but until I finish that part it looks bad so I moved it.

its probably alittle less than half the size of what it will be. Any comments?

I know theres some repetition and a bit of stretching that I'm working on fixing but I wanted to get the shape before I forgot it.
*edit* just noticed several layering errors, it wasn't mirrored but I forgot to check before I took the shot.
