Bellcross Federation - Helicopters in space? Why not?

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Quick question, there's an outline around the Section 21s on the rear engines, but not on the front engines, was this overlooked?

Aganemnnon is a much better design than anything before, though the colour is still boring, and it's very overarmed.

Overarmed? Don't really think so. It's a dreadnought......

Looks good.
Only one real problem: ugly stretched tachyons on ugly stretched 16's

I agree that the stretched weapons are ugly...If anything, make them normal sized and cover them with something else...And please, no pods or wings, this thing looks like a battleship so it would be a shame to change it. I would just say give it a militaristic paint job, fix any remaining errors and let fly

I like it, although it seems a little overarmed in places, and the stretched cannons don't look very good (or change the projectile, because tachyons resize to their smalles dimension), but other than that, well done.

I think I read somewhere that tachyon size increases with damage. >.>

Well, here's the Prometheus-class battleship. Comments?

I still spy a few right angles, but they're not that obvious. Nice.

Yes, Tachlyon weapon size increases with damage. Everytime the tachlyon 'ball' deals damage it becomes smaller (The exact damage can be modded)

That said, weapon size still does affect the ball size.

In an older version, tachyon size increased with damage, so if you gave it enough damage, you could have a screen sized ball of purple, but that seems to have been removed in the newer versions.

Anyway, I like the ship, not overarmed, only a few right angles or unbroken straight lines, and it's generally quite pleasing. My one complaint is the stretched plasmas. The size doesn't increase enough to make much of a difference in look, and, combined with the stretched gun barrels, it just doesn't look very pleasant.

I'll just shrink the guns then. Here's a...... little quickie.

Image

The Trojan Bomb, as the name suggests, is not what it seems like. It looks like an abandoned cargo hold with a gun on top on the outside, but when launched at opponents, it causes utter chaos. Upon detecting enemy ships, the unseemly bomb flies into the center of the formation, then simultaneously fires off the entire payload, consisting of 500 200-ton explosives, using a complicated detonation matrix. The explosives are known to detonate at the exact same time, so a ship closer in will be able to stop ships further away from taking damage, at the cost of itself.

Image

One known problem is that the bomb is incapable of independent flight, and must be launched forward using a tractor beam. It also cannot reload, so it's a one-shot explosive.

Goodness...you only need one shot though with that baby! You could always put a dieterling on it if you really wanted to be a bastard covered bastard...

I like the latest version of the battleship. Nothing wrong with right angles in space, and it still looks pretty streamlined. Do the battleblades work or does stuff just go past them? I had problems with them being too small to catch the projectiles...

Not really battle blades, just sections jutting out to break straight lines. And a little damage.

Bump.

Still no replies? :(

The Aeneas-class frigate was built to have an even balance of guns and speed. Although it may be able to match up to other frigates in battle, it doesn't fare well against the larger ships. It carries a simple shielding system for defense, and the point-defense is quite well-off.

To call the Perseus a repair ship would be an understatement. It has quite a good weapons loadout to be a repair ship, so the Bellcrossian military decided to classify it as a multipurpose cruiser. It carries a grand total of six beam cannons, with two being omnidirectional. Two omnidirectional spread cannons are mounted on the prow, while two quad-autocannons can provide steady fire support for other ships. Other than that, it also has a shielding system, six Nanoprojector units and an anti-beam mine launcher. Power is supplied by an advanced version of the Photomagnetic Fusion Thruster.
